Man, your post made me think of Tank Abbott. Not saying you're wrong but they're really only dangerous in the UFC against people their size, step up a class they might win, 2 classes they get destroyed. Now they can certainly beat people that have no fighting experience but I'd bet that only goes up to a certain size man. One the lessons I remember from our CQC instructors is if we are ever faced with a group, unarmed and backed into a corner, kill the first person we can get our hands on and stand over the body. That way everyone knows what the stakes are.

And these divisions kind of act as a "minor league" system. New ADAs start on juvenile misdemeanors, then juvenile felonies, then adult misdemeanors, on up. You can stall out at a certain level or just choose to stay. Not everyone wants the big murder cases.
