Let's also consider the other cases that are pending this outcome. That means they have to further push those cases (and plea deals) back, or let them go to court and allow those witnesses to testify. Those people then have nothing to lose by being more honest.
I don't think the state wants to try again.

I think that reduces the chance of a retrial, the only thing the prosecution could try is slipping him up in front of a new jury.

I was already thinking I wouldn't put it past the prosecution to rig it as best they could. Honestly glad they did it this way.
I don't think there's any chance of sequestration. He would have told them in advance to pack an overnight bag and make family arrangements.

We do not have a functioning justice system in this country when it comes to any case which has become political.
Once the media and the political left declares you guilty, then it is almost a certainty that is the outcome. Toss in the threat of riots and burning down the city if the jury doesn't comply just makes it all the more likely.

Kyle and his family were able to fundraiser $2M for his bail and I'm sure his attorneys aren't cheap, I think people will support them.

It's not really about "they." A longer debate most likely means "some" of the jurors aren't all-in on self-defense. I'd be surprised if they were unanimous on self-defense right out of the chute.
for those of you listening to the Rekieta feed, they are talking about more big tech censorship of his feed and replacing it with big media coverage. Also they are suggesting the potential of some tom foolery when the cameras did not pan over to the vdieo evidence but others did.
