I'm sure there are strict rules in place for the British Crown, may take lots of time and energy. But I would imagine Charlie can give alot of his wealth away to make things right in his mind.
By the way, GTdad is correct. In the old days the very open enthusiasm for Prince William and Duchess Kate would have made it clear already where the sucession probably would go to them instead. Or at least there might ensure a fight take place to settle it.
