Isn't that illegal? Didn't they try to charge Flynn for doing that?
We are a long way past the time the Northern Alliance trusted the U.S. and the CIA. Charlie Wilson's war has been over a long time. If Putin is offering Massoud (the son) support, he really wouldn't have much of a choice but to accept it.titan said:
This could be good news for any who want some sense of options to remain for Afghans. Massoud was the leader that Bin Laden thought was such a threat had killed right before launching 9/11.
Also, all the talk about the two coordinating is probably our Intelligence saying so --- and you know their record for accuracy of analysis -- would not be surprised if Russia actually ends up backing the Northern Alliance, with China behind the Taliban. They can't be very happy about big Chinese presence on the more European side of their border.

Yesterday Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, made headlines by claiming that they respect women’s rights. But today this is the reality in Kabul: first they erased photographs of women then they’ll remove women from public sphere. Iran have experienced these lies 42 years ago. pic.twitter.com/UfubfDZ6UQ

It appears so. Beltway-NY axis isn't any better than Moscow, and probably less interested in its own people.Jayhawk said:

People need to see what's happening there, we're all adults. People who are offended probably voted for the people who allowed this to happen and they need to see the consequences more than anyone.

I get the sense they have no clue how they are going to pay for their domestic policies and their own national defense and it is causing them great stress. Of course they may not have gone that far down that thought path and are still in shock that the US is actually withdrawing from the middle east. Global political norms seem to be in heavy flux right now. Who knows what the next decade holds at this point.
Its not as bad as they think. Russia is no longer communist. It might make sense to just cozy up to them more. What else is Germany really doing already by making their pipeline with them and being so dependent? Just go ahead and own it. Its not the USSR -- it probably wouldn't involve some loss of government.AgBQ-00 said:

I have no problem with NATO dissolving when we fund 90% of it while sacrificing American lives for the security of European nations. F em.
I see the anti-Taleban "Northern Alliance" are reforming outside Kabul.
