No one is going to harm you in your homes, no one is going to be interrogated or chased. Thousands of soldiers that fought us for 20 years, all of them have been pardoned. Those were famies at the airport waiting if they come back to their homes no one is going to come back to them they will be safe. No one is going to inspect them we give them confidence.

That doesn't appear to the reality on the ground

Analyst on Al Jazeera: Seems that women will be allowed to work pretty much everywhere, police, attorney general office, etc. However, Islamic law is not some thing really written in stone. It's all interpretations, having to be done by religious scholars. That's why you see such a huge difference between somewhere ultraconservative like Saudi Arabia and other countries that have "Islamic law" but are much more liberal.
the only work women will be allowed to do will be to serve as sex slaves throughout businesses and they will make them carry the bathroom **** out to dump behind the building.

Anyone who actually thinks women will be treated fairly is an ignorant dumbass. Women have meant nothing to them for THOUSANDS of years, yet people think now the Taliban is civilized and fair because Uncle Joe and Nancy ask them nicely?

Yeaaah. From what I have seen the Taliban doesn't look all that enlightened.

You understand the RPG is a symbol of leadership and power? ANA Sgts had RPGs, taliban have followed a similar model

Actually makes sense, albeit in a horrible ****ed up way. We are dealing with the Taliban on a diplomatic level now, not a military level. We can't send squads of soldiers door to door in Kabul right now. We just can't. We are going to have to ask the Taliban for either permission or just to let our people through their lines. Mixing in our young soldiers with their young fighters right now in a city that fell in a situation that is not currently an active shooting zone, is asking for trouble. Running street battle kind of trouble which somehow and in someway, has not occurred yet and would be the most surefire way of getting more people killed and tanking an already terrible situation down to absolute worst case scenario.

State Department wienies aren't going to do squat vis a vis the Taliban. They are all huddling at the airport that is completely surrounded by the Taliban.

They'll be dead by end of the month, I'd say week but they'll live as long as we're stuck trying to evacuate personnel end citizens. Which going by this cluster could take a month or so

Yeah, I agree.

This is tacit admission that the U.S. is militarily helpless right now and everything good we get is only by the good graces of the Taliban.

Thanks, Joe.

We'll find their killing fields to get these people out, also as you noted and I've harped on we can't send our troops in. We're already trapped at the airport due to geography if the taliban wanted to take out 7000 troops easily they could

it's crazy to say...but the Taliban are saving thousands of international lives by leaving the airport alone.

(probably making up for that in reprisals against Afghan citizens elsewhere)
Taliban just might have learned from before. Maybe they want to really rule Afghanistan for themselves, and the best way to do that is to NOT allow outsiders terrorist camps and groups to plot there again. Becoming of no interest to us is their best ticket to being able to govern without interference.

We will see.

I'd imagine it's a practical matter. The Taliban has this equipment literally in their hands. It's been moved and our air and intelligence assets on a tactical level are probably pretty much non existent. Where are we going to find it all? We blow up an MRAP that has Taliban fighters in and around it and the war is back on.

That ship has sailed on dealing with the material left behind. The time to act was in actively preventing it from getting into terrorist hands. That didn't happen.

Remember how we were told how much better Biden would cooperate with our international partners?

I remember.

Do you think Trump would have pulled this crap on them? They were completely in the dark on this.

But, please...let us hear more about overfeeding the koi.

not to mention the all the equipment left behind from all the contractors.

I think I saw something on the news last night that said more contractors have died in Afghanistan than US troops.

I do not believe the Taliban spokesman for a minute. However, it will be incredible if they stick to the script here and make us look like fools even further if they come out of this with a more secure and stable country by kicking us out.

So, does the US government have to file a self-disclosure statement against itself for export violations?
