He's much larger. Why would they use the same amounts?
There goes the tolerance angle...
She hesitated, indicating she was rationalizing / protecting him prior to answering. "Define same amount."

That was together. He could have done more alone.

Really trying to get people to feel bad for them and their drug use.

I'm guessing they are laying it all out on the floor that he was indeed a drug addict to take the wind out of the sails for the defense on the subject
Absolutely what they're doing.

They trying to show he was in good physical shape with no underlying conditions. Seems pretty convincing.

Remember when the lesbian firefighter described Floyd as "slim and frail"?

Actually, if he worked out enough, I think that he could have had an enlarged heart from the exercise.

Despite that, the obstructions (up to 90%) in his arteries would not have been at all good.

Hawg, is the reason the State has levied so many related charges against Chauvin a case of the prosecution simply hoping that something will stick? I've heard of, say, felony assault accompanying a trespassing charge, but never have I seen multiple descending murder charges accompanied by a manslaughter charge.

Sorry for the repost, but I'm keen to understand this- a little concerned that the purse fight that ensued overnight after I originally posted it may have hidden it from view.
Yes and no. In this case the Black community was clamoring for a "murder" charge. So the Hennepin County Prosecuting Attorney accommodated them. But he also had some doubts about whether the charges would hold up in court, so he added lesser included offenses which is not unusual. In fact lesser included offenses can be added even during trial, if warranted and the jury is so instructed.

But ultimately, AG Ellison took the case away from Hennepin County and added more charges.

Question for Mrs. Hawg

Not a lawyer so please forgive my ignorance. If the state calls someone to the stand and they testify what a fine upstanding individual this person was, a pillar of the community, helped old ladies across the street and rescued stray cats etc..

Does that then provide an opening for the defense to bring in past decisions that the state does not want discussed, such as criminal background, interaction with law enforcement, not taking care of children made, and being an overall oxygen thief?

It should

I think there was a flub in the testimony. I think she said he started his opioid addiction for his back, and she started for her neck.

Just a few minutes ago the state asked if Floyd had any injuries, other than what she stated previously his neck and shoulders, and she said no just his neck and shoulders.

Did I hear that incorrectly?

That depends on what the past bad act involves. The question of admissibility is whether the probative value outweighs the prejudicial effect.

March 2020 Floyd's hospital stay. She went to pick him up for work and he was doubled over in pain in his stomach. Later learned Floyd had overdosed.

He went to the hospital twice in March. Once because he cut his hand on glass.

The other.....he went to the ER because he overdosed on heroin! Prosecution objects and Cahill overrules.
