Not a lawyer so please forgive my ignorance. If the state calls someone to the stand and they testify what a fine upstanding individual this person was, a pillar of the community, helped old ladies across the street and rescued stray cats etc..

Does that then provide an opening for the defense to bring in past decisions that the state does not want discussed, such as criminal background, interaction with law enforcement, not taking care of children made, and being an overall oxygen thief?

Maybe the prosecutor is going to get to some big point, but I just don't see how this helps the State's case at all. In reality it makes it look like they are grasping at straws. Like, we have no facts to back up our case so let's put people on the stand that will cry over him. Again, what does this have to do with the actions of Chauvin? Give me a ****ing break!

Hawg, is the reason the State has levied so many related charges against Chauvin a case of the prosecution simply hoping that something will stick? I've heard of, say, felony assault accompanying a trespassing charge, but never have I seen multiple descending murder charges accompanied by a manslaughter charge.

Nelson should ask, "Was there ever a time where you were concerned about the amount of opioids George was using in regards to his well-being?"

That hit my family directly in one case unfortunately. I'm 100% for curbing opioid use big time. These pain pill doctors out there are the scum of the earth.
