So many pages of this thread alone were spent on these systems not being air-gapped. Pulling installation and configuration documentation for different vendors, versions, etc. Every one laying out a self-contained configuration. Everyone of them with security disclaimer pointing to the necessity.

Yet our resident, self-proclaimed, super-IT genius carried on it didn't happen, it couldn't happen, and all evidence to the contrary was overblown conspiracy for what was legitimate configuration.

The conversations are in this thread if someone wants to beat a dead horse, but it is simple

• Systems were not configured as the manufacturer / developers documented
• Basic IT security controls were not followed
• Software was allowed to be out of date
• In many instances, these systems were connected to external networks and shared networks with non-election devices

We were all told these installs passed multiple audits. Nope. Vulnerable systems, with horrible security controls, connected to non-election networks/devices.......and one side is just fine with it because 'their guy won.'
