I shouldn't be laughing because this might fly in court but that is one of the stupidest pleadings I have read in a looong time. And that includes the nonsense Team Mueller crapped out.
First, the lawyers filing for the protective order don't even represent the deponents, Ruby and Shaye. I guess technically those two were temporary employees for a short period but they don't even argue that point.
Second, arguing about service of process and claiming they made a special appearance contesting that after the substitution order in April, yet not renewing a special appearance in subsequent evidentiary hearings is a waiver of those objections. Plus the motion itself says counsel agreed to delay the depositions until June 14 is also a waiver.
Third, the delay requested is only for 30 days after service of process, which in itself is an issue that has been waived. Even if the court was inclined to delay until after the June 21st hearing on the bogus motions to dismiss, it's a delay only. Even if the judge granted the motion to dismiss, it would be without prejudice so it could be refiled.
Finally, to go to all of this trouble and make an idiot of yourself in court filing such nonsense means the county and its subagencies are very afraid of what those two women will say. Better course is to get them counsel and have them take the 5th, which is what I anticipated could happen when they were first subpoenaed.
When election workers at State Farm Arena on election night, on videotape scanning the same batch of ballots, taken from under a table, with no observers present, take the 5th...the pressure for an audit like Maricopa's will only increase. Tantamount to an admission of fraudulent criminal activity.
