This launch and changes to the vehicle were decided upon long before Trump. Everything they do is for a specific reason to improve future iterations, not political optics.

My guess...
If winds were higher they were still within launch limits.
If anything it would be an additional data point.

This is also the last launch of Starship V2. Flaps move leeward and I think it gets longer for flight 7.

Anyone know the logistics of crossing into Mexico and watching from there? Send getting the sun at your back might get better views for afternoon launches

They said on the broadcast the next versions flaps are also smaller and they did confirm, as you said, the ship will get longer making room for ~25% more fuel.

Probably January. I think the cadence was a little sped up because flight 5 was delayed by the FAA. I'd guess somewhere around the middle of the month, though inauguration day or January 6th would be hilarious.

NSF were saying the tower was GO, but booster was NO GO. Hopefully we find out.

I know a guy from Brownsville and he owns property in Matamoros. He's a peculiar dude, but enjoyable to talk to and all about Starship. I asked him why he didn't go to Bagdad and watch a launch since he's real comfortable in Mex. He said he was going to do just that.

It can't be hard. HWY2 takes you all the way to the beach and then there's about 8 miles up to the mouth of the river. I'll find out if he did it and report back.


ETA - my parents were driving home from San Antonio and saw the contrail from Georgewest. So all of south Texas could have see a little something today.

The next Starship is the next generation version. They may want to successfully launch that at least once before adding payload.
