He puts a very high value into his production quality. I'm surprised Elon hasn't at some point conversed with him, he must have rubbed him the wrong way somehow.

I think it was in an interview with Ellie (in Space) where Zach was saying that working in a cubicle just wasn't his thing or something along those lines.
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time

I honestly don't know how any first world human convinces themselves that working in a cubicle is an acceptable path for their lives.

Fun fact, Hubble's mirror is the size it is because it used most of the same processes used to make KH-11 mirrors, which made it cheaper. They're not exactly the same, but supposedly pretty close.

It pays the bills for my family. But at the cost of my soul. I hate very minute of it.

As long as you don't derive your worth or value from the cubicle farm, boss's approval, shareholders, etc... who cares. I couldn't work on a ship without my family... I chose the office over a job that traveled a lot about 5 years ago and am happier for it.

Everyone's different

I'm the same way. Thats why I traded my cubicle for an office as soon as I could. Now I get to look out at all cubes from the comfort of my four walls.

Anyone know of any other Space-related companies with offices in DFW? SpaceX is mostly down in central in south TX and most other space stuff is down in Houston, but curious what might be up here. I know there's LM but wondering if something like Firefly is up here too.

Is Rockwell still a player up near Love Field?
SupermachJM

Rockwell I think eventually divested into Collins which then was bought by Raytheon which still has some offices up here

Getting paid to sit in an air conditioned cubicle is a blessing most of the world would take in a nanosecond. Talk about easy money
Sea Speed

Sure it is easy money, but at what cost? Sitting in a cubicle is the antithesis of essentially all of human evolutionary biology.

Enough out of me though, I'll stop with the derail.

A first world problem indeed. There are plenty of manual laborers who would trade in a second. Both have their negatives.

LOX load is under way for a possible static fire. I don't see on the live stream that LCH4 is loading at all.
normaleagle05

LCH4 frost line just showed up!
txags92
How long do you want to ignore this user?
They just faked everybody out on the livestream by testing the deluge system right after they had a full load of LOX and small load of CH4 loaded. Sounds like they are defueling now.
normaleagle05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I didn't see that. There was some kind of vented cloud that came across. Have a time stamp?

No, and I clicked off of it. I forget which live stream I was watching, but it was maybe 3 mins before I posted. They had several people talking including somebody with an aussie or brit accent and they all suddenly started getting excited because the DSS and deluge systems activated briefly.

Happened about 11:37. Pretty sure that was a detonation suppression system test.

They're still live.

I'm in/out listening and watching. Caught them talking about the time it took to load the LOX, which I thought was fast. They said it might have loaded faster than a Falcon 9. It was <30 minutes. Huge improvement.
txags92
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, I quit watching when they started offloading the LOX.

This interview will probably be of interest to many on this thread. Retired Astronaut Butch Wilmore who was one of the Starliner pilots. This is a preview of the full interview which should premier soon.

I like Butch. He sat in on an interview I had a few years ago for a NASA CCP position. CCP ended up hiring a Boeing employee because they wanted someone with deeper relationships with Boeing to work through their certification issues.

I don't know how they worked around the 12 month conflict of interest period civil servants have with their prior employers.

Wonder how much that coziness had to do with Isaacman's criticism of the Starliner investigation and not categorizing the incident correctly?

Just the essentials, including a model rocket and a samurai sword.
