Today I learned Texas actually doesn't know sh**.
The video went up at 12:16, by 12:22 it was being questioned.
What more do you want?
It to not be posted.
Also, I know saying "don't take it personally" won't prevent you or anyone else from taking it personally, but I really hope no one does.
I'm less worried about the individuals than I am that so much in today's world is shared uncritically or with minimal investigation. And that's from all sources, on all platforms, about all manner of subjects.
I'm sympathetic to difficulty in finding trustworthy outlets. I consume zero cable news on TV, and always read M5M articles until I find the paragraph that makes the headline wrong; which is almost always within the final five paragraphs, regardless of length. There are enough stories that seem stranger than fiction without actually creating fictional stories.
It might also be relevant to know--for those who feel personally slighted by my pushback--that I've shared a fair amount of "fake news" myself; more so in the past than lately, but I still get tricked. I'm pushing back to help keep everything from becoming unnecessarily partisan or inflammatory. To the degree that a fake missile strike takes the focus off the unreasonable storage of 2.8kt of ammonium nitrate next to a three-month buffer of regional grain stores, I find the sharing of the narrative unproductive.
