They have a ship coming out to pick it up. Those are fast response vessels moving in to stabilize and rig the capsule.
They won't pull them out until she's out of the water and on deck

After replaying the splashdown I noticed I heard the splash right at splashdown (rather than a sound delay from a distant camera). Must have been from the crew loop?

Asshat got close enough they had to stop and run him out.
I'd have gone out and watched too, but they're gonna have to pay the coasties to come out and stop that kind of stupidity.
I know he thinks it was "safe", but take a look at the chemicals and pyros still on that thing, all other things aside.

Meh. They knew where it was coning down in time to secure the area. Pretty big mistake to neglect security.
After all this, think would just take the leisurely voyage back to Pensacola on that ship rather than a helicopter.
