Is the mission control room part of SpaceX or a new NASA MC somewhere?Ag_of_08 said:bigjag19 said:

Key words being "occasional updates"BigRobSA said:You don't have it?TexAgs91 said:
I miss the NASA Select channel that would basically just show you whatever was going on with the mission control audio loop going and occasional updates from the PR guy.
I just flipped to it, just now, to check and see....yep, still there.
Currently mission control, and a chick and a dude talking about things going on. Just showed the flight path.
Well, I never heard of the NASA channel until I turned my hotel TV on in Orlando, and now Melbourne. It's about 75% video of nerds in a control room and the dude and chick will break in.TexAgs91 said:Key words being "occasional updates"BigRobSA said:You don't have it?TexAgs91 said:

Looks like a LAN party for MMORPG games.
Explains why the MC looks like a nerd's LAN party and not 50 yr old tech riveted to the table.Ag_of_08 said:BigRobSA said:Is the mission control room part of SpaceX or a new NASA MC somewhere?Ag_of_08 said:bigjag19 said:

When the capsule is free flying it's SpaceX's MC. Thats one of the biggest things with this mission....spacex is running the show, NASA is a passenger.

Earlier they were showing live feed from the capsule. They stopped once Bob and Doug started working. It would be more interesting if they would show the actual work going on.

I hope NASA realizes the cities are not actually in the ocean.
Seriously, it's another time to ponder that NASA wouldn't let SpaceX land the crewed dragon on land precisely, as it intended, opting for the 'safer' water landing parachute style. Oh well, I suppose most astronauts don't get seasick real easily.
How did SpaceX want to land them and where?

the crew is not talking a ton atm. They shut up when the crew talks, but this is a much more automated re-entry
Yeah, that's during the maximum heating during re-entry. For about 6 minutes.titan said:
It is also very difficult, if not impossible, to transmit during the re-entry process which is underway.
