Baseball Thoughts: Aggies don't back down in Gainesville

After dropping Friday's series opener in Gainesville, Texas A&M refused to back down and responded to take the final two contests of a top-25 showdown at Condron Family Ballpark. As the Tom Petty song says, this weekend is another chance for the Aggies to stand their ground.

Tom Petty’s “Won't Back Down” has become synonymous with Florida athletics in recent years.

It became popularized as the pre-fourth quarter song at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on fall Saturdays in “The Swamp,” but the Gators have utilized it across many of their venues.

I dig it. It's an all-time tune by a guy born and raised in Gainesville, and its message is deeply applicable to sports.
