I'm not posting or sending the police report due to the identifying info within. It's publicly available. That's all I'm saying.

I already sent him an email just a few moments ago demanding a very public apology and a resignation. He has caused harm . I'm certain he's home packing as we speak.

This number and email should be used the next few days to let them know that indeed we have a lot of information about this (another) hoax.

I'm not sure why the prosecutor said there was no offense. The way I read False Alarm or Report penal code 42.06, it doesn't require the person to file an official report. Just stating it knowing it would cause a reaction is enough.

(a) A person commits an offense if he knowingly initiates, communicates or circulates a report of a present, past, or future bombing, fire, offense, or other emergency that he knows is false or baseless and that would ordinarily:
(1) cause action by an official or volunteer agency organized to deal with emergencies;
(2) place a person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury; or
(3) prevent or interrupt the occupation of a building, room, place of assembly, place to which the public has access, or aircraft, automobile, or other mode of conveyance.

Anyone remember the Jody Foster, Kelly McGillis movie in 1988, The Accused? That was based on a true story. The actual rapists pleaded out but the onlookers were prosecuted for cheering and egging on multiple felonies.

Now I'm not saying a tweet is a form of incitement per se but in today's context, it might be found to be so by a jury, had one occurred.

We are at a very real intersection of how free speech is being used to incite violence that is not directed towards any specific individual. So there wasn't an official report filed (which in and of itself seems suspicious), so there's no crime there for filing a false report. What about libel/slander? Surely falsely besmirching the reputation of a public institution like that warrants some degree of liability.
