I kind of feel bad for the guy and gal than planned this whole thing though. They tried to wreck a bunch of lives and made some horrible life decisions, but I don't think they should be wrecked for life. I think some serious soul searching is called for. Yeah, not only was he blatantly lying about it. He was willing to ruin somebody else's life and get them kicked out of school.
I'm sure they are reading this and blaming others for their problems, but this is national news now and it's all a lie. You got caught lying about your school and your classmates.

These types of hoaxes are inherently and by definition libels against some group.

I will say this kid tried to cross us and he was swatted down. He has zero clue this is going to follow him for the rest of his life too. Every recruiter I know does a google search on candidates.

If they were to come clean and really apologize I'd feel much differently. But he's doubled down and trying to play the victim even more.
Obviously I don't know intent, and also the intent seems pretty darn obvious.
