I read somewhere that the flu killed 3,000 between October and December 2019 in just the US. That's with vaccines and all kinds of other prep. Hmmm

You do realize that deaths of nursing home residents is not unusual? 11 of the deaths were not corona virus.

The ones that died from Corona likely had other severe health issues. I know in my mother's final days, she was in a nursing home. About 75% of the other patients had some type of COPD due to a lifetime of smoking.

Get something like corona virus loose in there and there will be many deaths. The flu likely took some of the 11 other deaths.

Its not just death that should be sobering... its the possible permanent lung damage that is also a potential threat. It's not JUST about body count. This does have potential of having life lasting effects... even life shortening effects.

Is corona virus a problem? Yes. Is it a public health concern in the USA, yes. Should we take appropriate steps to ensure it does not become a public health disaster? yes.

Is it the world-ending apocalypse that they are trying to make it? Probably not. Just like many of the things they have eagerly and willingly blown out of proportion the last 5 years or so to hurt our country.

About 6 months ago, between the Mueller report and Ukraine hoax, the MSM had a coordinated effort that sprung up seemingly overnight, with "esteemed economists" saying that we were about 3-6 months from a massive recession. "All of the indicators" they said "point to an inevitable recession -- worse than 2008". No one knows why or where that came from, but it was on almost every channel and NPR for the better part of 2 or 3 weeks. It was discussed at length on this board. Then, it disappeared just as fast...but it was clear as glass what narrative was being pushed....

That didnt hurt the economy like they had hoped, but suddenly coronavirus did. It logically follows that the same idiots would use this situation (in which global producer China shuts down their factories unexpectedly for months, and reduces their demand for oil by 25% which would naturally deflate futures) to push their agenda...which is the only narrative they have: Orange. Man. Bad.

But its thought people are shedding the virus while showing minimal symptoms or none at all.

In addition to testing we need to be setting up quarantine camps. Sad to say but at this point it looks like we will have to focus on load management until we get a vaccine or cure.

if you get this early enough with testing, the vast majority of patients could likely be home quarantined

you aggressively test to uncover the milds and keep them home, reducing the R0

combine paranoia, distancing, hygiene, and super aggressive testing can really bring R0 down and actually help the local businesses (since you're showing people you are tracking the outbreak and not every person is a vector)

if Trump is that concerned with the economy for his re-election he needs to understand that going to a war footing over testing is almost required
