I think the flu in the US killed 3,000 between October and December 31. Has CV killed that many people worldwide? I am honestly just asking, it may have but I'm under the impression that it's not even close to 3K worldwide. It's killed about 14 in the US at this point I think.

I don't know - millions were infected with common flu yet you barely saw a report on that in the news. Why?
I think it's a mild concern but certainly not the hysteria we are seeing. I don't know how anyone can dispute that. We have seen so few cases in the USA that if it wasn't politically expedient, it wouldn't even make the news.

And if your argument is that "it's more serious than flu", the initial stats were that it had a 2% death rate. This is higher than common flu but even the reporters of these stats admitted that there has probably been much misdiagnosis of this versus the common flu, so it probably had about the same death rate as common flu or even lower.

I treated with OTC flu type meds with no improvement.
I called Teladoc Wednesday and started antibiotics and nasal spray with no improvement.
I now have a deep lung constant hacking cough and labored breathing. This has gotten worse than any sickness I have had.
How would a guy go about getting tested for corona?
I'm likely heading to urgent care tomorrow.

You can probably call your doctor and explain your concerns but if it is coronavirus not sure what else they would do. I picked up a pulse oximeter to help me decide when a cough turns bad. Admittedly I'm a mild hypochondriac.

I saw projections that New York would be underwater due to rising seas, and projections that we only had 12 years before we all died, and projections that every family would save $2,500 on their health insurance, etc. Gotta watch those projections.

Does your doctor's office have any kind of 24 hour contact options.?

If you have a sinus infection (usually obvious by blowing out green/yellow snot) it could have gone into bronchitis or bacterial pneumonia.

Before you go to urgent care or the ER, you should call them to see what they'd want you to do so if in the end you do have the coronavirus, you won't expose everyone else there to it.

If you decide to call 911 for any reason, make sure you tell them your symptoms and that you think you might have it so the responders can take precautions.

If nothing else, you might try calling UTMB-Galveston. Looks like they do have a 24 hour nurses line.
