I would bet on it; probably with the student from Wuhan that was a negative last month...according to the CDC.

If anyone gets any tests, let me know. I would like to be tested. Even the antibody test considering I (and my 4 kids) got sick around the time of the Brazos County "possible" case.

My son is at school at UW-Seattle. They just cancelled all in person classes and finals. Everything will be online until next quarter (they are on quarter system, finals are in March). New quarter starts March 30th.

Big increase in restaurant and bar revenue. Won't have those pesky classes getting in the way.

I have an employee returning from being in India for a month. He is supposed to be back at the office on Monday. His supervisor asked me if he should tell him to self-quarantine at home for a week or two and for him to work out of the house. I told him that unless the employee is showing symptoms of being sick, then he should come to work. (Just like the rest of us)

Am I wrong?

Someone "leaked" a CDC playbook on reddit at the start of this. Take it for what it's worth, but it was basically two goals - buy time and preserve the economy. How do you do that? Prevent mass hysteria, or at least spread it out.

It was impossible to stop it at the borders. Anyone who was paying attention to this in late January knew it was never going to be contained in China. Anyone with a knowledge of math or finance knew this. The CDC for damn sure knew this.

In light of their two main goals, A lack of information actually helps the CDC. In the end, who cares about testing? It's going to spread anyway, and it's going to spread exponentially.

Fake News has this so jacked up. Trump needs to go kill a man on 5th Avenue so they'll drop the Corona Virus hype.

Folks need to talk to people in the medical profession before getting jacked up about this, instead of listening to journalism idiots.

My boss just came back from being in India for a month...at a hospital. I contemplated asking him to self-quarantine.

Here is my thought process...

There are more cases in the USA then in India. Also...I am in the Oil and Gas industry. Over the past month, I have personally traveled to San Antonio where we had the international SubSea Tie-Back Conference and shook many hands. Had another employee that was in Northern Italy to do inspections during the early part of February. Others in my team have traveled to another international conference in Calgary. Our suppliers in Italy tell us that they are fully operational and having no issues. We have a manufacturing plant in China that is fully operational as well with zero cases of coronavirus.

Nobody in my company, office or in my group are sick at all.

If we have it, we will all get it. So, I'm not really sure how the employee that has been India would have been any more exposed than the rest of us.

One of the cases is the rabbi of the synagogue he attends, and apparently the members who are supposed to be under quarantine are refusing to do so.

At this point, I'm not overly confident in the CDC's wisdom. People have been walking around and likely spreading for up to 14 days without symptoms by some reports. You do you though. Ima stay home and be thankful that my work can be done remotely.
