I feel I've caught the virus from so much media about it.

Anybody have any thoughts about what closing TAMU would do to the b/CS economy?
What if I told you that tamu students were brought back from Italy and quarantined at local hotels, unbeknownst to the public?

Big increase in restaurant and bar revenue. Won't have those pesky classes getting in the way.queso1 said:

Here are the issues with the CDC's response and the reason that our "confirmed" numbers mean absolutely nothing.
It almost seems intentional...
Yes you're wrong. If he can work out of the house, let him. This is 2020. Unless he's working directly on some on-site equipment, he doesn't need to show face time to be productive.TurkeyBaconLeg said:
I have an employee returning from being in India for a month. He is supposed to be back at the office on Monday. His supervisor asked me if he should tell him to self-quarantine at home for a week or two and for him to work out of the house. I told him that unless the employee is showing symptoms of being sick, then he should come to work. (Just like the rest of us)
Am I wrong?

My boss just came back from being in India for a month...at a hospital. I contemplated asking him to self-quarantine.
If someone has it, wouldn't it make more sense to keep everything on the desks to kill it?fooz said:

Plenty of people in the medical profession are actually quite concerned over this.BQ78 said:
Fake News has this so jacked up. Trump needs to go kill a man on 5th Avenue so they'll drop the Corona Virus hype.
Folks need to talk to people in the medical profession before getting jacked up about this, instead of listening to journalism idiots.
Thanks for that.cisgenderedAggie said:

11 more cases in New York City, all connected to that damn lawyer.
One of the cases is the rabbi of the synagogue he attends, and apparently the members who are supposed to be under quarantine are refusing to do so.

Paper or anything that "mist" might ruin is what they were referring to.Tanya 93 said:If someone has it, wouldn't it make more sense to keep everything on the desks to kill it?fooz said:

Here is my thought process...
There are more cases in the USA then in India. Also...I am in the Oil and Gas industry. Over the past month, I have personally traveled to San Antonio where we had the international SubSea Tie-Back Conference and shook many hands. Had another employee that was in Northern Italy to do inspections during the early part of February. Others in my team have traveled to another international conference in Calgary. Our suppliers in Italy tell us that they are fully operational and having no issues. We have a manufacturing plant in China that is fully operational as well with zero cases of coronavirus.
Nobody in my company, office or in my group are sick at all.
If we have it, we will all get it. So, I'm not really sure how the employee that has been India would have been any more exposed than the rest of us.
The CDC has this recommendation for travelers:Quote:
Pay attention to your health for 14 days after returning to the US. Stay home and seek medical advice if you get sick with fever, cough, or difficulty breathing
The key is "If you get sick with..."
