I think Monday is setting up to be a record drop in the stock market.
Especially for the airlines and any travel related companies. Woof!

The question will be, what stocks stand to gain? Pharma? Manufacturers of mask? Amazon (people doing even less brick and mortar shopping)?

Worlds most famous art museum (arguably) closed temporarily due to CV.

Lots of Chinese tourists visit the museum and the palace at Versailles. I am wondering how they are disinfecting the portable tour guide recording devices.

Speaking of lots of Chinese I was thinking about going to Yellowstone this summer. Not so much anymore

Airlines and other travel related companies are going to need a bailout, this is going to be devastating for that industry.

Amazon has gotten it's teeth kicked in. The idea of people not leaving their houses and having crap delivered is sound. Problem is all of Amazon's branded materials comes from Asia along with so much of their merchants on Amazon

We are. Made all the arrangements back in December. At least I hope we are.

If driving, why wouldn't you be able to go to Yellowstone? Pretty expansive outdoor area... Hotels and restaurants the concern?

I think my general feeling after 254 pages of this is that we should go ahead and cut off supply routes with China, eliminate their student visas, and restrict their vacation travel to Asia.

Win (American manufacturing) / Win (No more stealing American tech or ****ty TAs that can't speak English) / Win (no more overcrowded tourist attractions around the world)!

Downside (less likely to get funny videos of stupid Chinese tourists trying to pet Bison)

It is expansive. It can also be very congested. Going to the GrandCanyon/Falls area is a massive jam of tourists/tour busses. I dont mean this to sound like racism or stereotypical, but its a steady stream of Asian tourist busses that rove in packs all with iPads and phones and it makes it look like a NYC subway stop with the crowd congestion. I get it. They are day trippers and hitting the highlights. But its a problem. The Norris Basin is a mess too. Fortunately there are lots of off the beaten path places to wander around in that the tourist busses do not frequent. I'm more worried that general travel will be curtailed.

My brother spends a good bit of time in Bahrain and loves it there. It's not your typical "Middle East" at all he says and he intends to take an assignment there for a couple years once his wife finishes school. Gold is cheap there too. I've had him buy me some.

It might go green if Central Banks dump enough cash into it. They've got to stop the margin calls or this will spiral out of control.

Won't last long though.

We went to the The Eagles concert here in Dallas last night. They were incredible and it was sold out. Quite odd to see Vince Gill singing Eagles tunes but he was great. This morning we are all drinking our coffee this morning and waiting for COVID-19 to consume us after being with thousands of others in close quarters last night.

Also, I am shocked that Las Vegas doesn't have a case yet considering the sheer number of Asians that overrun that city all year. Think about Chinese New Year and how many go to Vegas for that every year. Vegas decorates the entire city for it.

That is all about us not testing for it .

Seems like that's about to change.

Yeah, but are we just waiting for tests to tell us that we all have it before we overwhelm the hospitals?

If this is as bad as they say, I would expect out hospitals to start getting overwhelmed in communities across the country regardless of we have tests or not.

We're well over 30 days past CNY. That place is constantly packed with Asians and olds. If there was a case, it would be pretty damn public already. Has nothing to do with the testing.

Tend to agree that enough time has passed that if the virus was community spread, we would have many more cases by now in places like Las Vegas.

And the concerns expressed by the DHS whistle blower have not proven to have supported the idea that we lost containment from bringing over the American citizens from China.

Yep, the media and the alarmists are about to achieve their goal and make the economy tank. Everybody knows that this disease isn't a big deal, but the libs and their media partners need to make everyone feel it in their wallets.

By the middle of this week we are going to hear nothing from the MSM except that this is the biggest economic collapse in the stock market since 08-09, which they hope will turn into layoffs soon.
