Given what we "know" about this virus so far, it seems it would have been devastating in 1918. The only advantage they had back the day was travel was much slower, and quarantine easier.

Several of my friends have FB posted a link to a story saying animal testing was done with this virus as they were trying to perfect a virus that would cause a pandemic.


When they were done with the animals, instead of burning them as required, they sold them to people who ate them or kept them as pets.

The high school that the presumptive Washington case attends is in Snohomish County (Jackson High). Other WA case (woman with travel history to South Korea) is in King County.

If he really said it, they need to just tell him to stop talking about anything virus related.....so much fail that can come back to haunt him in November. Downplaying a giant unknown isn't a winning strategy, especially if the unknown can cause widespread negative economic and health effects.

I agree with you. He has nothing to gain by seeming to ridicule concern about this virus and a lot to lose. Democrats are definitely politicizing it, but he has to resist getting sucked into this.

The word he means is "diversion." The word "hoax" sounds as if he believes the virus is an imaginary threat.

There is enough for me to worry about in terms of economic and health threats to my family and me without watching Trump go out on such a precarious limb.
