Play it by ear and keep tabs on the news. This stuff is changing so quickly it's hard to make a definitive assessment for one to two weeks out, much less almost two months out. Especially when we don't have full cycle data from outside of China.

Remember, this time last week we didn't even know about the situation in Italy, South Korea, and Iran (at least I didn't know).

Good thread on different roles of CDC and FDA play in testing in the US. SK and Italy numbers are going up because more testing is done. When US does more tests we will see the same results, numbers going way up. It's out there. Unsure if limited testing is purposeful to limit overreaction when so many cases are mild.

Maybe it's time for a population reset.

I think it's time to accept that pretty much all of us not living in bunkers or complete isolation are going to be exposed and likely infected by this virus in the coming months. The real damage is going to come from the panic that ensues once everyone realizes it is going to be widespread in the US. Yesterday was just a preview.

Hopefully an effective vaccine can be produced in short order to limit the damage.

It's obviously really bad in China, but if the US was terribly concerned, Trump wouldn't be making so many public appearances right now, and sure as hell probably wouldn't have gone to India.

If they are more worried about panic and people dying from other diseases then yeah I can see their reaction being what it is. If that's the case they are between a rock and a hard place with no good options.
