I have not read every post on this thread, but has there been any discussion that the Coronavirus might be a bio-weapon that is actually two virus in one?

I have seen unconfirmed discussions that claim this is:

"A heavily modified "chimera"strain of the flu with a bio engineered neurological kick to it, two viruses in one. The flu is just a method of delivery for the real payload"

"Causes people to develop flu-like symptoms that creep for a while and then suddenly fall over where they stand as the payload creeps through the body and then infects the brain (which then does something to the diaphragm inhibiting breathing) and lung tissue (you produce liquid in your lings and you drown)

---
This all sound crazy and is unconfirmed. But has anyone been exploring this stuff?

IS THIS EVEN REAL?

The only way this could possibly be feasible is if the bioweapon virus somehow was accidentally released (with symptoms as described above) and that the precursor Coronavirus (which was used to make the bioweapon) was intentionally released to "inoculate" as many people as possible before they could be infected by the bioweapon.

Too far fetched to be credible.

You have it backwards. You don't inoculate to prevent, you vaccinate to target. A virus very similar to this was shown in studies to be quite deadly to those with a SARS vaccination and more akin to the flu to those without.

So if you were an evil communist dictatorship that has excess population and "undesirables" and the ability to inject them with whatever you wish...

Very far-fetched, sure. It would fit with what we've seen so far.

let's think of this another way. Normal deaths in china exceed 10,250,000 per year, almost a million a month.

Their infrastructure handles this normally.

https://knoema.com/atlas/China/topics/Demographics/Mortality/Number-of-deaths

so what would it take for their situation to go from normal to burn pits/no funerals or burials/hauling truckloads of bodies/overtime crematoriums, etc.?

I'm guessing its a bit more than 1000.

I agree it looks really funny, but could this additional load be due to forced cremation? Not sure how Chinese typically handle bodies, but now that the government has mandated cremation for nCoV deaths, maybe things have changed. Maybe every death in the region is cremated just to be safe.

Think of the collateral damage by this - those with other illnesses that couldn't be seen because they weren't flu like, the old living as forced shut ins, the disabled, cancer patients, etc. with things shut down city wide, death accumulated in homes apart from this contagion. When they start to reopen things , there is too much to handle.
I'm not saying i trust the Chinese with this type of honest math, but this crisis has a huge secondary impact that isn't just economic.

This was really good talking about the paper bringing to light a possible 24 day incubation period.

He basically says this non peer reviewed study was done on over 1,000 patients in many hospitals (so that's really good) and found a median incubation period of 3 days, not 14. Also talked about a probable reason for the 24 day incubation period outlier happening when a patient is re-infected X # of days after the initial infection.

3 days seems like a much more reasonable number.

Yes, no way to know how many thousands have died from being locked in their homes. If your under quarantine and have a heart attack are they going to send an ambulance? How about the elderly with some other illness?

I'm sure they aren't bothering to test the dead coming out of quarantine. So who knows what the cause is.

Unless you are a rich person from a local rural hukou assignment, or are a religious minority (mainly Muslims and Buddhists), you don't have a choice. It's cremation only in China by law otherwise.

Minorities may get preferential treatment like Tibetans for sky burial.

Quote:

At least 500 Wuhan medical staff infected with coronavirus

  • Medical sources in the city confirm rate of infection, but say they have been told not to release the full picture to the public

  • So far three deaths among medical workers have been confirmed, including that of Li Wenliang, but higher rate of infection risks hampering fight to curb disease

At least 500 hospital staff in Wuhan had been infected with the deadly new strain of coronavirus by mid January, multiple medical sources have confirmed, leaving hospitals short-staffed and causing deep concern among health care workers.
While the government has reported individual cases of health care workers becoming infected, it has not provided the full picture, and the sources said doctors and nurses had been told not to make the total public.
The reason for this edict was not explained, but the authorities have been trying to boost morale among frontline medical staff, especially following the death of Li Wenliang, who was killed by the disease weeks after being reprimanded by police for warning colleagues about the new virus.
A slide circulating online, however, reveals the scale of infections among medical workers in Wuhan.

It said that by mid-January there had been about 500 confirmed cases among hospital staff with a further 600 suspected ones.

A source from a major hospital in Wuhan with knowledge of the situation confirmed that the slide was authentic.

Those infected included at least 100 staff from both Wuhan Xiehe Hospital and Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, with a further 50 cases each from Wuhan Number 1 Hospital and Zhongnan Hospital.

A research paper published by doctors from Zhongnan Hospital in The Journal of the American Medical Association last Friday said at least 40 medical workers had been infected.

Apart from hampering the capacity of hospitals to contain the outbreak and treat patients, medical specialists said the rate of infections among frontline staff was an important indicator of how easily the disease, which has killed more than 1,000 people, could be transmitted and the risks of contracting the virus in hospital.

A doctor from a major hospital in Wuhan, who requested anonymity, said the development had hit morale, adding that many medical workers were "devastated" when they saw the CAT scans of colleagues who had been infected.

"That is why we have been crying out for more donations of medical supplies, especially hazmat suits," one doctor said, describing how a quarantine area set aside for sick medical workers was now full. "We have seen too many colleagues falling ill because of insufficient protection."

Doctors and medical experts have said that a shortage of protective gear, overlong working hours and well as lack of awareness about how contagious the virus was had been major factors in the large number of infections.

One of you who lives in D.C. [or near Mar-a-lago Florida for that matter], get some reporter to button-hole President Trump about what all is going on, when he is most likely to just expound. Or even do it in person from the crowd. Most of the legacy media is too busy trying to serve the Democrat agenda to frame him instead of asking these questions.

That aside, perhaps the focus should be less on the illusion of "containing" such a virus, as having clear knowledge of how to avoid getting it or passing it around, and of course, in due course, some kind of counter, a vaccine or even cure.

I know China is not exactly being forthcoming, but what about ours and Russia's, and MI6's spies--- surely they are at work on this?

Propaganda to make things look not as bad. Look at the comments in the video. There was another video going around similar.

Pretty stupid if you ask me. Physical exertion just gets the virus in deeper.

Well that is dismaying if true. There is no way that would be so if I was one of those senior leaders. That's what the spies would be working on. You know we have them there for other reasons. Also would be talking to Putin to see what he might have learned. Ah well.

I certainly hope you are wrong that they know less than those following the Internet. What a collapse of being informed that would be.

Just would like to get an idea if a trip out of country in March should be cancelled. A relative's business conference in Oregon already was because of no-shows from China.
