Did anyone else watch the CDC press conference today? They basically said China hasn't let them in. The virus is a massive problem in China, but as long as they contain the spread and treat those here we should be okay.

It should be available on the CDC's facebook page.

I missed they were having a press conference. So basically the CDC only knows what China has told them and what are cases show. No wonder everyone being evacuated from China is being quarantined on military base. The CDC doesn't know close to everything about the virus. Hopefully some of the other Asian countries with larger numbers of sick people will share their data with the CDC, since China is of course stonewalling them which is to be expected when dealing with communists.

Are you guys aware that several airlines are still flying from mainland China into western Europe?

In-laws boarded a plane for Australia today. 5 week trip between there, New Zealand, and Fiji. We'll see if that inheritance comes sooner than expected.

Another important question that I am not seeing addressed at all is how long does an infected person stay infectious.

What I want to know from the 14 cases we have, especially the early ones, is now long is it taking to get over it. We've only heard of the one person. I would like to now if the other first 5 or 6 are close to recovering or not.

I've always thought the "suspected" cases were still alive (as in they are just keeping an eye on them to see if they develop a fever), but the article in the previous post shows that many suspected cases are dead.

If that is truly the case, they are hiding the deaths in that category and as of the latest update, there could be more than 20K deaths...not 724.

Seen quite a few estimates from 20-30K.
