I think we are already seeing the secondary signs. British Airways cancelling all flights wouldn't have been done without some serious discussions AND on the ground intelligence telling them this is far from over, same with Starbucks. Since when do massive global corporations voluntarily walk away from profits?

I saw a tweet from Peak Prosperity guys today saying the Chinese expect the cases to peak in mid-Feb and run its course by end of March. That is awful considering that the entire country is essentially on lock down. (notice how you haven't heard any "cities on lock down" announcements the last couple days? the figure magically stopped at 50 million).

Numbers in the US? No clue. Depends on how fast public health folks can identify and isolate the infected and how fast people change behaviors to protect themselves. At this point, our govt is WELL aware of this and trying everything they can to quell fears and avoid a panic. The Warren campaign announcement didn't help keep the FUD contained to a minimum.

I am guessing a week, maybe two before we start to see numbers tick up. The WHO and CDC won't make a "pandemic" announcement until they see sustained person-to-person infections outside of China. They are being very cautious, as they should be.

Watch some of the videos I've posted. They are reasonable, calm, educational discussions. Far from the Mike Adams/Alex Jones types trying to sell you supplements....

Yeah I'm just saying even if they locked those infected in, if they have a shared HVAC system for the building and the infected are breathing out the virus, and they have returns in their individual units, guess what? That virus is spreading throughout that building for anyone who has their units on.

The other thing with the apartment building... ventilation. Depending on their HVAC setup, they could all be getting contaminated air anyway.

From what I heard, the virus isn't airborne, just travels on moisture droplets. Someone coughing/sneezing on you or in immediate vicinity = potential infection. Breathing on the other side of the room = no infection.

It shouldn't travel via conditioned air in a building.

The mortality rate is still completely unknown. Only 2-3% have died...but only 1-2% have 'recovered.' So will it be 2% or 60% ?

What percentage will fully recover?

Sure. Have read the same on the moisture droplets. Just thinking of the viral load for the very sick and what they're aspiring.

I've got a family member who was involved with the medical side of the military and was in Thailand when SARS hit. We've discussed what's public in the news, and she's still got several proteges in the military, some of whom are involved in the US response and monitoring of nCV. She's talked with a couple of them this week.

Things sound to be very similar to SARS in how it spreads, etc. They did see SARS case spreads through shared HVAC back then, and anticipate it could happen with this one too. Nothing confirmed yet, but a cause for pause.

In general though, they're thinking that general good hygiene practices, avoiding sick/coughing folks, handwashing, etc. will minimize spread here and other non-third world cultures.

Keep in mind, the truly sick (whatever classification you use) basically have pneumonia.

That's a b*tch to recover from normally for anyone who gets it. Recovery time is several weeks, and is why you aren't hearing of too many being cured in China, and why you aren't seeing anyone else outside of China who got it "cured" (e.g., Washington kid, Chicago patient who were early cases and have been treated for over a week now).

Most folks think now the ones China are reporting as "cured" came down with the virus back in December or maybe even earlier.

Normal pneumonia recovery time is anywhere from two weeks to two months, depending on one's immune system. Serious and up (critical, etc.) cases are all on ventilators.

There was already a large drop in demand and BA flights from HK havent been stopped (yet). It is indeed serious but from a company perspective it seems simply prudent and cost effective. United already suspended some flights (20-25 total) to mainland and China as the largest US-based airline in and out of China. American and Delta is still running flights so I guess their intelligence is vastly different than British Airways.

We also noticed that the only Asian donor (male) has a much higher ACE2-expressing cell ratio than white and African American donors (2.50% vs. 0.47% of all cells). This might explain the observation that the new Coronavirus pandemic and previous SARS-Cov pandemic are concentrated in the Asian area.
Interesting, but not much of a sample size.

Maybe they were trying to manufacture something to I don't know, reduce their population? Or use against Japan or other Asian countries. Scary if any truth to these rumors.

That needs to be determined right away. Especially if that is true it wouldn't pass by HVAC, its even less that open air wind would pass it around.

But find out. Get to the bottom of it. I have to hope our spies that are usually seeking info about the communist party or military moves over there have been redirected to learning how much of the media coverage is just misleading exaggeration, or the reverse, under-reported. Simple observation from reliable sources not seeking to hype would go along a way. We have got to have that already there you would think.

Wuss. I got over pneumonia in a week a couple years ago. And that was after sucking it up for a few days before going to urgent care. First sick days I've taken in my life. Cough persisted for a couple months, but was back to normal overall within a few days.

Hospitals are for pansies.

The sample size for the Asians being more susceptible is one *1* patient.

Kind of premature to jump on that one.

This is definitely a conspiracy video from the "Atlantis Report"

Basically saying this is an American bio weapon out of fears that the Yuan and China credit /culture were going to take over the world and this was released by the pentagon! Lol.

Cost of goods will almost certainly take a hit. These next couple weeks are going to be very sporty for in regards to supply continuity too.
That description you gave can cover a WIDE variety of products, but if you are interested in American made I may be able to help you out.

11 of 99 patients died, almost all were elderly with underlying medical problems prior to infection.

That is about 9 times as deadly as the common flu, with an R0 value twice as high.
