Based on my experience, this is no different than how chinese people wait in line any other time, as in they don't.

I guess the good news is, they seem to be moving after they are picked up by the people in white suits.

That's not what I meant! Just it somehow makes it worse--- even mean as well as vile, if that makes sense.

Don't they know many plagues started with rats--- this seems so counter-sense. It won't surprise at all if it is the cause.

Yeah, having seen how these live markets operate, I'd say they aren't exactly all that well informed about diseases, period. Whether it's by their bioweapon-producing government or the utter disregard for disease and food safety of their live markets, China is determined to produce the apocolyptic disease by hook or crook.

4 cities in lock down. In US equivalents.....Lock down the entire state of Illinois or Pennsylvania.

I am not saying its time to panic, but they are certainly not telling the truth about what is actually happening.

pretty sure that quarantining whole cities of millions of people is absolutely time to panic if you are in china or have been around anyone who has been there in the last month.

wtf, flu doesnt drop people fully dressed in the streets, even sars.

and all that quarantine/clean suits/masks/whatever and hospitals only works when the health care service people out number the sick people. once you hit a tipping point, it could get ugly.

WHO Not Declaring Virus' Spread a Global Emergency....say what?...18 dead so far!

https://www.scmp.com/news/china/society/article/3047455/china-coronavirus-world-health-organisation-not-declaring-virus

Quote:

The World Health Organisation said on Thursday that the deadly Wuhan coronavirus did not constitute an international public health emergency, despite the climbing death toll, which now stands at 18.
"This is an emergency in China," WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a press conference in Geneva. "But it has not yet become a global health emergency. It may yet become one."
Ghebreyesus said there was "no evidence" of human-to-human transmission outside China, "but that doesn't mean it won't happen".
The United Nations agency's ruling came on the same day that the Chinese government placed eight cities in central China's Hubei province, including its capital Wuhan, under effective lockdown to stop the virus from spreading, blocking off all outward public transport. Some 650 cases worldwide have been reported so far.

Our population is less than 1/4th of China's and we've had many more than 18 die from flu so far this year.

In the 2017-2018 flu season, Texas had more than 2300 deaths from the flu.

Could this outbreak be worse than the flu? Absolutely. However, it's likely not even close yet.
come on. no way they shut down 4 major cities over 18 dead. or 180. or even 1800. this problem is much bigger than being reported.

If the city is closed for more than a week, how are people going to eat?

Whenever discussions of the 2nd Amendment come up, remind yourself of this fact:

The 240 million Americans living in the major cities are only 9 meals away from invading your home and killing you for what's in your pantry.

Oh sure, it would just be the minimum thing to do. There is no good way out of any of that if it happens.

Oh... *****

Yeah this is starting to look like Texas A&M might get to use the pandemic vaccine manufacturing facility we built a few years ago with BARDA.
