If you are stocking up for an extended home stay, I might suggest ramen noodles to do it on the cheap.
Best option is pig feed. Same nutritional requirements, dirt cheap. In desperation, why the hell not...?
Completely serious.
It's not that it's bad. Just tough as nails on the larger onesWheatables02 said:a lot of those hogs have bad meat, right?scottimus said:Texas hog population might come in real handy soon...WoMD said:MouthBQ98 said:

How many cases has Italy exported? Time to stop flights yet?

I want to know, on average, how many people would likely eventually be infected from one person with Corona Virus flying coach? You come into direct contact with the food/bev cart people, who come into direct contact with probably 3/4 of the plain. Not looking good for the people directly next to you. I prob won't be flying for a while...KorbinDallas said:

Do you want worms, or coronavirus? a lot of the big fat hogs may have some parasites during the hot nasty part of the year. younger ones should be fine. Soak them in brine and then cook them.Wheatables02 said:a lot of those hogs have bad meat, right?scottimus said:Texas hog population might come in real handy soon...WoMD said:MouthBQ98 said:

Transmission of airborne diseases on commercial aircraft has been shown to be very low due to the air circulation system's HEPA filters. This has been true for the flu, SARS, MERS, etc.Boo Weekley said:I want to know, on average, how many people would likely eventually be infected from one person with Corona Virus flying coach? My children attend a school where a family (child in the same class) has been in Italy for the last month (returning to the states in 2 weeks). The school did not have a plan in place to prevent the child from returning to school.
The school has decided to prevent the child from returning to school for at least 14 days after returning to the states.
We are in San Antonio, fwiw.

This is a serious issue that is going to cause some significant economic damage and maybe help tip some countries into a recession, but pandemics have happened before and will happen again.queso1 said:
Hoping for a serious answer. I'm a bit unnerved about this whole thing, but I'm reluctant to go full blown panic. Does anyone have any links to web forums or other media from pig flu, sars, etc? I'd like to see a comparison to determine if we are overreacting.
But can't this be spread pretty easily by physical contact? Think about how many people you come into contact with indirectly through the flight attendants passing our snacks/drinks and taking trash. The person who was just sitting in your seat and putting their hands all over your fold down tray on the last flight etc. I'd think the Virus would have to be pretty resilient to live on a coke can or napkin for more than just a few seconds, but isn't this one supposed to be?Rapier108 said:Transmission of airborne diseases on commercial aircraft has been shown to be very low due to the air circulation system's HEPA filters. I was responding to Boo's question about spreading it on the aircraft.KorbinDallas said:Rapier108 said:Transmission of airborne diseases on commercial aircraft has been shown to be very low due to the air circulation system's HEPA filters. Im not worried about spread on the flight itself. But bringing in new potential carriers into the country from countries know to have an active outbreak.

True, but it is MUCH worse if they give it to just 1-2 of their neighbors on a flight than if they are sole carriers.KorbinDallas said:Rapier108 said:Transmission of airborne diseases on commercial aircraft has been shown to be very low due to the air circulation system's HEPA filters.
