The one thing I have solid confidence in is how the GOP handles the judiciary. This is a universal ironclad issue for the entire party. I read an article a while back about the infrastructure in place that is designed entirely to build up a conservative judicial system with constitutional judges. It got Trump elected. Hell, it caused me to now place McConnell is my all time respect list for how firm he stood during the Garland nomination - and I HATED Mitch before that, but SCOTUS is the #1 issue to me and there isn't a close second. Its the last line of defense and once that is gone...its gone forever.

From the beginning, I've found this to be the scariest, saddest, and most maddening thing of this whole charade. This SC Justice confirmation process is one of the most important political processes we have, and allowing it to be derailed with one completely baseless allegation devoid of any evidence is a dangerous, dangerous road.

Also, they had to know more allegations were coming. Hell CPL has been saying he was bringing them. Surely, they talked and unless there was something really damning in the allegations (and there's not anything), they have to be prepared to proceed.with the vote.

I mentioned this earlier today. The R's knew this was coming. No one was surprised. If they had the votes locked in last night they have the votes locked in right now. The Senators have made up their minds at this point. Even the fence sitters. Not saying this means Kavanaugh gets confirmed but what we are seeing now is pure theater.

37 years ago. i was a freshman in 80-81 and can only tell you a couple of things:

- Our freshman basketball coach sucked and didn't want to coach basketball (he was an assistant football coach) but he did like to hit on the good looking girls
- We did go to one epic party on an empty street, of course as freshmen we had to remain on the outskirts of the party, which ended up being a blessing when the cops showed up since we got the heck out of their the quickest
- I thought i'd never get laid since all the girls in our class went after the upper classmen

Any specifics besides that and I'm coming up blank.

They are from when the accuser had graduated and was at Yale. Purportedly, after having left high school she continued to attend these parties even after having witnessed boys drugging and pulling trains on girls attending them until finally it happened to her...but not at Brett Kavanaugh's hand, apparently, he was just the Rape Ringmaster or something.
