Oh good grief! An injunction against a Senate vote?

Id like to laugh but I can see some random district judge in a favorable court issuing it.

What an unbelievable **** show.

I've never been so conflicted on an issue in my life.

I don't want to discredit women, but it's all really fishy. Democrats have been disgusting through this, but republicans are trying to rush a nominee that might be a scumbag.

What if one of these women is correct? Just a really messed up situation.

I will say, a Supreme Court nominee should have a completely flawless and perfect record.
He does.

He has a flawless and perfect record.

Some crazy people with NO EVIDENCE can say whatever they want to say, but the facts and his record stand for themselves.

But, this is absolutely frightening that a flawless and perfect record can be overwritten by baseless accusations with NO REAL EVIDENCE. Amazing.

Blumenthal already did. He was interviewed on Fox a few minutes ago. What a slime bag.
Blumenthal just said Kavanaugh is lying if he doesn't acknowledge that at least some of the claims against him are true.

If I didn't quote that exactly right, its pretty damned close. Wow.

Doesn't matter. If some dude came forward saying Sotomayor crushed me unconscious with her huge Hispanic thighs and had her way with me....

Then yeah there would have been scrutiny. Nobody did.

I had the same question. At first I thought they would omit that to spare the poor notaries from having the press crawling over them with questions about the demeanor of those signing and other BS but then I realized their names could be easily redacted for publication.

Unless they were actually put under oath by a notary before signing and the notary attests to it, it is not a sworn affidavit.

Nobody has a flawless or perfect record. I don't really care what he did in high school when he was 17. He seems like as an adult he has pretty good record and judgement.

That's bull. You wouldn't nominate a guy who murdered someone at 17 and got away with it. There is totally a line where you should have to pay the price for bad things you did when you were young. The question is, can you prove it?

He does have a perfect record. None of these three liars can produce any corroboration. Until then, his record is perfect. If all it takes is dems dredging up low character, lying hoars to besmirch a record then no Republican will ever have one and you'll be "justified" in supporting their opposition. What you're struggling with is exactly why these smears keep coming. They are for people just like you.

If he participated actively in the drugging of women while in college, or even verbally abused women, he should not be on the greatest legal court in the world.

Sorry, that's just the standard I'd like to hold the court to.

Yeah, that is probably right. Primarily because most people who murder somebody at 17 don't put themselves in position to be considered for the Supreme Court based on other factors.

If DF would have turned over the letter the minute she got it a lot of this wouldn't have happened. They aren't rushing it through. They are trying to meet a deadline and DF by sitting on the letter is trying to keep it from happening. The Repubs for all their faults aren't at fault here for rushing it through.

The only person to ever have a flawless and perfect record is Jesus Christ and he was crucified on a cross. We human beings are all very sinful and far from perfect. This nomination fiasco is just an example of how sinful and judgemental mankind can be and it's turned this nomination into a potential tragesty.

I'm with you, but it's really hard for people who have been abused to speak out. Have you ever seen John Hughes movies in the 80's? Sixteen Candles, Brealfast Club, etc.

Rape was almost a social norm then. Even those movies glorified it as like a jock coming of age.

I just could easily see a woman seeing this dude about to go on the Supreme Court and being like, "ok I need to suck it up and come forward"

I can also see Democrat's making this all up to get back at Merrick Garlands filibuster....

I really don't know. None of us know. Not sure whAt to think.

How about rape? You honestly think someone couldn't have gotten to where he was in life and have gotten away with horrible crimes in earlier life? Open a history book at some point dude

You haven't seen anything yet.....wait until CPL rolls out his next loon charge tonight. I said that they would roll one out every night until the hearing and was poopooed. These people are evil sociopaths and will do anything to win. Unfortunately, the GOP traditionally turns into a blubbering mess on the floor....so sad. Kavanagh would have been great on the court. I am afraid we are done here.
Problem is - if we are done here you can never nominate ANYONE.

If unfounded and baseless and made up claims 30 years after the fact can stop Kavanaugh...they will stop ANYONE.

If someone vetted and investigated by the FBI 6 times prior with nothing found can be undone by (supposedly) grabbing one boob as a 15 year old and then making up the rest then we have reached a point of the inmates running the asylum and you can say anything about anyone and it has to be believed.

Baller,

This isn't being ram-rodded by the Rs. This is being indefinitely delayed by the Ds because of Merrick Garland (maybe). Think for yourself on this one, how can anyone have a "flawless" record in this day and age? I've never sexually assaulted anyone but that doesn't keep someone of a different political bent from accusing me.

I had a buddy in the Corps that was falsely accused of raping a female underclassman. He was given his due process and ultimately it was found to be consensual. The girl's boyfriend found out and to cover for herself she accused this upperclassman of rape. The point being is that due process should be followed in all accusations. He could always be impeached if the allegations were found to have merit after proper investigation. This is purely political on the Dems part.
