Didn't we all say this was going to happen once Grassley lost control of the situation? He got played, and played well. The delay in Ford's testimony was never about her inability to travel, it was about stalling until this latest allegation could be brought forth and allowed to ferment in the public forum. Of course, this new accuser is going to want her say in front of the committee, and of course there will be some exigent circumstance why she won't be able to appear in a timely manner (not to mention the time required to mount an investigation of these new allegations). There will be no vote, and the nomination will be withdrawn.

Well played, Senators Grassley, Flake and Collins. Kavanaugh is finished, his life and career destroyed, along with any chance the GOP had of holding the house (and quite possibly the Senate). The Trump presidency is quite possibly finished as well.

If anyone thought there was still any hope for this country, well now it is pretty much finished.

Not sure we can blame this one on Grassley. The delays were probably necessary for the simple fact the Republicans did not have the votes. The fence sitters may have been holding out.

If Kavanaugh takes a fall then hold off till after the midterms and Trump can nominate a truly hard core conservative. The midterms won't be looming so there won't be as much hand wringing by the right about pissing off voters. In January the new Senators are sworn in so we won't have to deal with Flake at the very least. And the R's will, if the polls are correct, picked up an additional seat.

I know it's frustrating but this is not just about confirming Kav

It's about confirming him and not giving the Dems a midterm issue of "See!!! They don't care about women!!!"

It's difficult I know but keep the faith.
