Fox News just said she will testify but not when.

Has to be by Wednesday or they can't seat him by Oct 1...
She better start driving.

Heard last night that did her graduate studies in Hawaii. Unsure if she drove there.
Her grad degree is from Pepperdine.

Again I heard she did part of her studies in Hawaii. It was apparently online before everything was wiped. Just passing along what I heard.

Maybe she is really afraid of flying. Strange for someone in her field. We'll see.

There were no "details to work out". Grassley was clear in his offer.

Rs should have offered to hold the hearing at the Hoover Inst. at Stanford.

Then the complaint could have been about the shape of the building.

Her over-the road trip to testify would be a media spectacle akin to OJ's Bronco chase.

Have they said why she needs more time?

She wrote a letter. Her memory is clear about the events. This has been going for two weeks.

So, there is no agreement. We are exactly where this started. A couple of sentence statement that she wants to tell her story and testify but still haven't been able to work out the details. Haven't those details been the problem ever since she was offered the opportunity to tell the committee her story? It is moving up the list toward the top of the cheap political smears and stunts in out country's history.

You know? When this first surfaced I thought, "Seems like a piddly thing for her to still be upset about but let's hear her out." That's when I still thought she was an adult and a professional.

After all of this, I think she's just a neurotic twit.

But hey, if she wants to strap on the Depends for an epic drive, bring it on, Buttercup!

This is all a setup so the narrative can be that the mean nasty GOP wouldn't accommodate reasonable requests.

Christine Blasey Ford, a California professor at the center of a sexual assault accusation against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has agreed to testify to representatives of the Senate Judiciary Committee sometime next week.

Although details are still being worked out, Ford's appearance would put an end to a stalemate that's lasted for several days, and engulfed Kavanaugh's nomination in a firestorm of controversy. This week, the Senate Judiciary Committee's ranking lawmaker threatened to advance a vote as early as Monday, in an ultimatum meant to compel Ford to tell her side of the story.

The accusation has ricocheted through Washington, costing Kavanaugh public support and stalling his march to confirmation ahead of the hotly contested midterm elections. Democrats are seen holding an advantage, with Ford's defenders and critics trading accusations of political motivations.

Senator Charles Grassley, an Iowa Republican who chairs the Judiciary Committee, had been negotiating with Ford's legal team about whether she would appear, and under what conditions.

The sparring between the two camps has been bitter, with Democrats accusing the GOP of rushing Kavanaugh's nomination, while Republicans have walked a line between being sensitive to Ford's claims and trying to get the seat filled ahead of midterms.

In a lengthy post on Twitter, Utah Senator Orrin Hatch sought to rebut several claims raised by Ford's defenders who have argued committee members have not been sympathetic to her plight. In response to conditions set by Ford's legal team earlier this week, Hatch said that the Judiciary Committee staffers were willing to travel to California to hear her testimony, and have been willing to extend the deadline repeatedly.

"We are absolutely sympathetic to limitations with regard to travel, which is why Chairman Grassley has repeatedly offered to send staff directly to Dr. Ford in California, so that travel would not be necessary," Hatch tweeted

Odds she has had a complete make-over since July? Better than 75%, I'd wager. Lipo, Botox, facial peel, new hairdo and make-up. Bet her students don't even recognize her.

Certainly would explain the delay. If she had a boob job, her doctor would not recommend she fly for a week to ten days following.

Lmao I doubt she did that this week, but a makeover prior to confronting Kav would come as no surprise. That being said this particular delay is 100% political.

Kavanaugh needs to make an ultimatum to Grassley - Cut the BS right now or I'll withdraw.

We elected these numbnuts to call the shots, not defer to the Democrats. Outside of Gorsuch, the GOP has done nothing the past two years but give the Democrats everything they want.

Enough.

as long as the vote is still scheduled for monday, (which means confirm on friday) then why are we freaking out. Lets wait till the monday vote gets nixed before freaking out.

Grassley has all the leverage and hasn't given it up, despite optics.

No. Kavanaugh is going to see this through to a vote, no matter what.

I have said a few times that Chief Justice Roberts controls the calendar on SCOTUS. None of the current SCOTUS member can be pleased with what is happening. (Even RBG doesn't like it.) Plus Kagan and Kav have worked together before and have a friendly relationship. (Harvard where she hired him.)

Kav is only recused if he's not there for oral arguments. Roberts can change the SCOTUS calendar to allow for a vote on Kav. If Kav goes down in the vote, no harm no foul. If he's confirmed, he can be seated and play catch-up on the briefing (assuming he's already selected his clerks and they are working quietly in the background on the early cases on the SCOTUS schedule.)
So if Grassley agrees to this delay, it may be because Roberts has already told him not to sweat it.
