I think it's just evidence as to how thoughtlessly vicious social media can be. People are disconnected when trashing others, forgetting that these are actually real people.

The goal is to either A) delay Kavanaugh's confirmation into October, or B) get the Rs to not give in and move to confirm Kavanaugh now. Kavanaugh then has no real chance to defend himself, and his name is officially tainted in the public. Awesome; just ****ing awesome.

Yep. The internet version of bullying, gossip, and attacks of character are proving to be worse than the IRL version.

All the more reason to not delay - less time for trump to step on his mushroom and tweet something out that gives left more ammo.

Reading the responses to the AP tweet, it has seemingly become cool on social media to tell your personal rape story. I think it is healthy direction as a people, but it sure brings out the skeptic in me seeing all of the attention it garners the alleged victim on social media.
I...I was working CARPOOL at Harry's one night during a CCR concert. As I was walking around, my ass was grabbed by 3 different women. I never told anybody, but it has sat with me for 15 years and has made it very uncomfortable for me to walk in large crowds of women. I demand those 3 women be fired from their jobs!
I'm irrationally angry you got to see CCR live....
Not the good CCR, the Texas country band.

Nothing he said was out of line. People are afraid to state the obvious. Nothing happened (even if it was actually tried). It was not bad enough that she reported it to authorities. Kavanaugh has made his way up the ranks as a circuit court judge, yet it wasn't bad enough for her to bring it up then...only now that he is a SCOTUS candidate.

People are too afraid to call out the obvious BS in this whole story.

Well, that's enough. Time to figure out who I will support in 2020. I know there are plenty of men are thinking the same thing, but there was no need to vilify Ford here. I believe something substantial and traumatic happened to her around the stated time frame (whether the reported event or something else) and it's tyrannical to use the bully pulpit in an attack like Trump's.

And in the course of doing so, they contacted, at her request, members of the PGA tour. One of whom told the Post, 'I don't think you really want to talk to me.'" The comment was not further explained.

At the end of the show, diGenova said, "I'm for calling in outside witnesses. I want all the PGA golfers who have anything to say about her brought in to testify." Ingraham then said, "OK, to go to her character?" He replied, "bring in the PGA golfers to testify about her. She has put her character at issue. Bring in those golfers! Bring in those golfers!" Ingraham laughed and said, "we're going to learn more about that, everyone's wondering, googling LPGA, is it LPGA or PGA?" DiGenova replied, "It's PGA. It's the men. Bring in the golfers!"

Then, after Democrat Scott Bolden said there should be an investigation that includes the investigators from the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office's sex crimes unit, diGenova interrupted, saying, "you've got to send for the golfers first!

Pull a play from the DNC playbook. Her daddy was the President of an elite country club in the early 80s? I'm guessing it was a lily white crowd back then. So, she was raised in a racist environment that fostered hate. The Dems would do it in a heartbeat.

If Christine was under the age of 18, I doubt that any PGA golfer will divulge anything derogatory. However, if she was 18, all bets are off.

In the spirit of the President's tweets, didn't he just dare Ford and her attorneys to contact the appropriate police department and DA's office in the county in Maryland where the alleged incident occurred and file a formal, criminal complaint?

To me, that seems like the logical next step for them...

And frankly, I think it would be the last hope remaining for the dems seeking a delay...at that point, they'd have to rely on the DA to agree that it is worth investigating...

With all do respect, why would anyone believe that something happened to Dr Ford? The whole story, the timing, the unseen letter, the strong appearance of this being motivated by politics and not justice, her demands of the committee to have the accused testify first. Again, respectfully, there is nothing that leads me to believe anything like what has been described took place and I am genuinely curious how anyone could see differently.

This crackpot needs to be very careful about what she says under oath or reports to the cops on an affidavit. Which is why we're seeing the crazy demands by her lawyer and why she won't file a police report.

I think if they had done that, it would have hit the press already...

The danger in that, of course, is that it is a crime to make a false report to the police...

The benefit of the approach chosen so far by Ford and her attorneys is that none of it is has been alleged in an official, sworn statement...if it gets to that point, then Ford, if lying, would face real prosecution...

For most, they "believe it" because they want to stop Trump and Kavanaugh, nothing more. If they were actually honest, most would call it BS.

Then there are those who believe "a woman never lies about rape" which of course everyone knows is complete BS as well.

Because it would involve making a sworn statement to the police which, if later shown to be false, would open her up to criminal prosecution...

And I agree...I doubt it happens...

But if her story is truly legit, that would be the logical next step...

I think that's why Trump dared them...

No. Neither she, nor her lawyers have requested a state investigation. They are all in on the FBI doing it.

Except that she's in hiding and avoiding talking to the FBI even if they had jurisdiction. Why they think an on record interview with the FBI would not be stressful to her, I don't know. She's still in legal jeopardy.

Nothing she and her lawyers have done to this point make much logical sense, particularly from a legal standpoint.
