Jeff Flake just went on record saying he supports a vote to confirm if the accuser isn't willing to speak on Monday.

He did? That's quite a turnaround.Bo Darville said:

I'd say that's that.Bo Darville said:

So that's why Feinstein is blocking a subpoena, you think?blindey said:I'd say that's that.Bo Darville said:

She'd better pop up quick or else this is all going to blow over and be forgotten.
Or, perhaps, the Democrats realized they chose a terrible witness and prep sessions pretty much always end in meltdowns or hopelessly damaging testimony.
Meh, neither of you are guessing.etcetera said:My guess is you are wrong.OlSarge92 said:
My guess (not a stretch), this was planned and orchestrated for months. They likely expected this response and 100s of other possibilities. Someone has a decision tree / playbook they are following or being directed to follow.
This has the fingerprints of Hillary and Obama all over it.
Its a cold civil war w/o question. They can't get rid of trump but they can try to steal the bench.

Grassley should say "Either we have confirmation by noon on Wednesday that she is appearing for a hearing on Monday or we're having a vote this Thursday."
Cancel the Monday hearing and schedule the vote instead. SCOTUS session opens the first Monday in October. Now the first week or so is normally just housekeeping matters and scheduling for the remainder of the session and Kavanaugh not being confirmed by then wouldn't be a disaster but getting him confirmed (or not) before then would be better. Have the vote and let they chips fall where they may.Bo Darville said:Tailgate88 said:

Grassley has already formally cancelled Thursday's vote.
I think you're right on Flake -- he probably got an earful from his constituents. Also likely that he was on the receiving end of a reading of the riot act from local Republican bar associations.aggiehawg said:So that's why Feinstein is blocking a subpoena, you think?blindey said:I'd say that's that.Bo Darville said:

Makes sense as to why Flake just threw in the towel, however. (Or maybe his constituents have been bombarding his offices with protests.)

I don't buy Dem Kool-Aid. Would suggest you refrain from doing so as well.Rockdoc said:
I'm thinking there may be some dems(not on the committee) that really dont appreciate what's been going on. Don't approve of the dirty tactics.

They tried to do prep on her and she performed very poorly.

Feinstein and Flake are convinced she won't. And her attorney was all over cable news yesterday but now is radio silent? No.TriAg2010 said:
Prediction: there will be a second 11th hour surprise Friday afternoon or shortly after the committee vote that Ford is willing to testify.
