They don't care about the truth. They want him confirmed so they can have their little campaign talking point.
This play has been tried before. If you want the American people to take it serious and believe it isn't political, I would expect the Honorable Senator Feinstein to be put under oath in front of this committee to answer questions about her role in this and why she pushed it out last Thursday after the hearings were done. Questions would include why she didn't turn the note over to the FBI to be included in his background check over the Summer, why she didn't ask him about it privately, why she didn't ask him about it under oath in front of the committee. I would also ask her and her staff to answer questions under oath and turn over documents (if any) where a strategy was discussed to introduce the allegations.
This is serious business and doing the above would provide some assurances that this isn't a little political game. Feinstein's team should be more than willing to do this. It may be enlightening or all of the strategy may be being handled by the legal team of the accuser and coordinated with other groups with Feinstein as the useful idiot to them. I would expect the accuser's lawyer to go under oath in front of the committee to answer questions too. We must ensure this isn't politically motivated.

Agree 1000%. In a town that is already a cesspool, this type of dirty move is taking it to another level. It's way past time to start reeling this garbage in, and Feinstein and her staff have served themselves up on a platter. They need to be grilled, and at an absolute minimum, she needs to lose her spot on the committee.

A lot of people can play this game. I lived in Fairfield, Connecticut from 1972-1974. When I was 15, I was in NYC, in Grand Central Station (completely true on many occasions) and was sexually assaulted in the bathroom (not true) but maybe I repressed that memory but now I know it was Chuck Schumer.
