Ok, I was just curious if the Kav thing is the only or main topic, or if it was just a part of it, or more general.Prognightmare said:

Mostly about Kav, but some about Russia, China, and other stuffMooreTrucker said:Ok, I was just curious if the Kav thing is the only or main topic, or if it was just a part of it, or more general.Prognightmare said:

I think it's because they know RBG won't make it another 2 years. They are scared to death that Trump gets another pick and they are in desperation mode trying to gain control.Bryan98 said:
Btw someone a million pages ago wondered why the Dems are going to the mat fighting Kavanaugh.

I think Thomas is waiting for RBG to go tits up first. Then he'll resign. I also think it happens next year. RBG croaks mid-session and Thomas resigns at the end of the session. Having an odd number on SCOTUS is better than an equal split.country said:Wildmen03 said:I think it's because they know RBG won't make it another 2 years. They're really going to lose it when RBG kicks over and Thomas resigns. I believe Trump still has two picks left in his Presidency.
Agreed. I just think the Dems were so desperate for a win leading into midterms that they pulled out all the stops.PanzerAggie06 said:
If this is the case then the Democrats are even bigger morons than I thought.
Kennedy was a moderate swing vote on the court. There are plenty of pundits out there stating that Kavanaugh very well could be in the Kennedy mold of justices. Hell, Kavanaugh even clerked for Kennedy. To burn this much political capital on a man that very well could not swing the balance of the court is incredibly short sighted. They would have been much better off holding there cards and waiting to see if RBG takes a dirt nap. Now when Ginsburg dies Trump is going to go all in with a hard core conservative, probably a female, and there won't be much patience out there for more of there hysterics.
They chose poorly.
I think they did vet the claims and quickly came to the conclusion that they were garbage, which is why they held back on going forward with them. The only chance these claims have of working is if they are last minute and used to muck up the process.PanzerAggie06 said:
Agree. Plus it has become blatantly obvious that the Democrats did not fully vet the initial Ford accusations. I find it hard to believe that the looked at her accusations in their entirety and concluded that it is a winner. The saw the initial claim and got so excited about it that they failed in their due diligence to make sure it would hold water. This one rests purely at Feinstein's feet.

Feinstein knew it was a load of hooey in July. Then Blasey Ford (or her handlers) kept pushing it, ultimately outing Ford's name and Feinstein's involvement. At that point, DiFi was trapped.PanzerAggie06 said:
