Corporations are allowed to hire or contract with political activists that call themselves reporters or serve both roles. Nothing makes you a reporter or journalist except the general convention that that is the activity you often do for a living or as a hobby. There's not some sort of certifying body or self policing governance group that endorses a title.
People who are engaged in political activism need yo be addressed as what they are actually doing versus what part time identity they are hiding behind.
After reading all of this, I firmly believe that journalists need to be licensed to practice. There most certainly is a health, safety, and welfare aspect to the job they perform. And, don't give me the freedom of the press or any crap like that. They can still have their voices heard as un-licensed bloggers if they don't want to get licensed.
Without the potential to lose their ability to practice their so-called profession, they just run amok like the propaganda mercenaries we all know they are. Those emails disgust me, and I thought it wouldn't be possible to hate the press more than I already do but there it is.
I would fear the Democratic Party leadership, leftist progressives would corrupt this beyond recognition. It would be weaponized against conservatives.
Same thing with revising libel and slander laws I have recommended. A lot of care would be required to ensure these wouldn't be abused/weaponized against conservatives.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”
