Ok, so that basically confirms Obama was spying on Romney's campaign.
Remember when we all were discussing the contractor access to the NSA metadata through the FBI? Although what Rogers and Judge Collyer found didn't go all of the way back to 2012 there were strong suspicions that the same activity was going on in 2012. That year was mentioned specifically.

Romney is baffling. Why would he not be standing side by side with Trump in trying to get to the bottom of this mess? I figured he was sour grapes because Trump managed to pull off what he couldn't, but you would think he would be screaming from the rooftops about this. Crazy.
I doubt Romney is aware of it yet. He's a little slow on the up-take.
Romney I think believes he could wind up being a unity VP pick, either this cycle or the next. Like his father, he's got a long track record of being wrong.

Plus, he really hates Trump, as his 'pierre delecto' feed idiotically revealed. At this point he sees his power being maximized either as a 'Dem in all but name' senator, or a VP pick by a Dem.

Without a recording that is all speculation. Is it possible? Sure. But I think there might be some confirmation bias that "Obama was the bad guy, who ordered all this". Comey has plenty of motive and this email is evidence against Comey.

I am guessing Comey might say differently.

Just get the slime balls to start pointing at each other, That is the first step toward flipping them.

Completely agree. Comey might refute this email. I just think its only speculation that Obama clearly ordered Comey to take these actions. If he was smart, he would have ONLY insinuated and left the interpretation up to Comey. Kinda like when Lynch only insinuated that Comey needed to let Clinton off the hook, I think there is a clear pattern that Comey would go "above and beyond" to keep his hold on power, laws be damned.

Comey is a dirty cop who hated Trump. I don't think he would need a direct order from Obama to entrap flynn. I also can see the logic that this Rice email was CYA, But CYA doesn't mean its a lie.

Quoting myself to adjust my thoughts. Its looking like I was incorrect.

With the new information that the office of WH Counsel were the ones who directed Susan Rice to write this email several weeks later. That makes it less likely that Rice was accurately recounting events.

In fact, it brings in the possibility that she was provided and ordered to write this email by Obama. Because this fabrication was meant to hide a possible crime (spying on american citizen without a warrant), just this action in itself might be criminal. What WH lawyer was dumb enough to take on this task?

I'm honestly shocked that Obama administration was this brazen.
They were really very panicked on their very last day. Unmasking Trump's kids, directing the WH counsel compose a defective non-contemporaneous recollection as an official record, frowning in the Rose Garden etc. I think there was some realization from Team Jarrett that they really had failed completely, and the dream of finding 'something' to stop Trump was an unmitigated disaster (as it remains to this day), despite their lawlessness.
After January 20th, didn't most of these players have access to raw signals intelligence due to the EO Obama signed. Supposedly, the EO allowed raw signals intelligence to be shared between the FBI,, the NSA, and CIA.

Since so many participants in this caper were still employed by these three agencies, I suspect there was quite a bit of unmasking or spying done AFTER the inauguration that wasn't done by Mueller's team.

I'm sure Romney got a payoff or two somewhere. The problem they had with Trump is he can't be bought off or blackmailed.

Edit to add: Trump also isn't in it for the power even though the left paints him as a dictator. In everything he has done as President he has tried (at least with the information he had at the time) to do what is best for the United States.

And the remnants of the bureacracy that stood by and let it happen or didn't intervene have been very content to sit on this type of evidence and hide it by non-release, classification, redaction, or tying it up in bogus unpredicated investigations hoping this would all blow over.

Romney didn't get paid off. He might have been leaned on regarding inside knowledge of his own questionable business dealings overseas, but what I see in Romney is sanctimonious narcissism. He believes he is highly principled and wants to appear that way to peers and media, even if it means adopting narratives instead of ugly truths.

There was never a question that SCOTUS would stay the production order given the massive amount of harm to innocent people that would be caused were all the grand jury material be released. The stay terminates if no petition for a writ of certiorari is filed by DOJ by COB June 1 or if the writ for cert. is denied. (Unlikely.)

So, the can is successfully kicked down the road.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said Wednesday that he wants to release a report on his investigation into Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings and Hunter Biden as soon as next month.

"I'd like to get something out in the June timeframe, personally, certainly before the August recess," Johnson told reporters, asked about his previous comments that he wanted to release an interim report over the summer.

Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) are months into a wide-ranging investigation stemming from the Obama administration, part of which is about the son of former Vice President Joe Biden.

They said in a request for information earlier this year that they were looking at "potential conflicts of interest posed by the business activities of Hunter Biden and his associates during the Obama administration."

Johnson and Grassley have since received documents from multiple agencies, including the State and Treasury departments and the National Archives.

Johnson noted Wednesday that staff are compiling the report as they get the information from the administration.

The very first thing I thought of reading the Huber tweet was the staggering number of former federal prosecutors who are not just Democrats, but deep blue democrats. EVERYTHING I've seen and heard regarding Sullivan's actions in the last two weeks have ranged from simply "raised eyebrows" to outrageous misconduct, bordering on illegal". So it would be stunning to me if they really have 1187 federal prosecutors alive, not to mention that many finding value in Sullivan's actions.

Secondly, for you legals, was this decision today decided by all nine judges, or did one judge make the decision? I kind of figured it would have been 5-4 if all nine voted.

What is remarkable is the government's newly minted claim that Flynn's lies were not "material" within the meaning of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1001 because the FBI did not, on the day it interviewed Flynn have a "legitimate" open investigation that it expected to result in criminal charges against him. The government's portrayal of the facts is an egregious distortion. The government did have an open investigation into Flynn, and not only was that investigation legitimate, the FBI was investigation Flynn for possible criminal conduct that went far beyond any connection he may have had to Russian interference in the 2016 election. The FBI also had ample reason to investigate the many foreign business relationships Flynn forged while working for President-elect Trump (and prior to that time) under its broad mandate to ensure that government employees do not pose national security threats.

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6895871-Flynn-Brief-Final.html @3-4

In addition the the "egregious distortion claim", the first sentence of the next paragraph is "(t)he government's seemingly disingenuous representation of the facts . . .". Talk about a complete lack of self-awareness.
