Solomon started justthenews.com when he left The Hill because they wanted to trash his reporting for not backing down over Obamagate.

I think he's at least one of the top 10 print reporters in the country, and I keep his site in my feedly RSS feed to check daily. He does not suffer fools lightly.

As another poster pointed out some time back but it's worth mentioning again that John Solomon's acting chops are not to be discounted either. I loved him in True Detective Season 1.

i *think* that was me but i've slept since then.

i always chuckle at the thought of solomon calling obama "little prince" when i see him interviewed.

What kind of White House counsel would think that email was a good idea? Especially when instructed to do it by White House counsel.

Without a recording that is all speculation. Is it possible? Sure. But I think there might be some confirmation bias that "Obama was the bad guy, who ordered all this". Comey has plenty of motive and this email is evidence against Comey.

I am guessing Comey might say differently.

Just get the slime balls to start pointing at each other, That is the first step toward flipping them.

Completely agree. Comey might refute this email. I just think its only speculation that Obama clearly ordered Comey to take these actions. If he was smart, he would have ONLY insinuated and left the interpretation up to Comey. Kinda like when Lynch only insinuated that Comey needed to let Clinton off the hook, I think there is a clear pattern that Comey would go "above and beyond" to keep his hold on power, laws be damned.

Comey is a dirty cop who hated Trump. I don't think he would need a direct order from Obama to entrap flynn. I also can see the logic that this Rice email was CYA, But CYA doesn't mean its a lie.

Quoting myself to adjust my thoughts. Its looking like I was incorrect.

With the new information that the office of WH Counsel were the ones who directed Susan Rice to write this email several weeks later. That makes it less likely that Rice was accurately recounting events.

In fact, it brings in the possibility that she was provided and ordered to write this email by Obama. Because this fabrication was meant to hide a possible crime (spying on american citizen without a warrant), just this action in itself might be criminal. What WH lawyer was dumb enough to take on this task?

I'm honestly shocked that Obama administration was this brazen.
They were really very panicked on their very last day. Unmasking Trump's kids, directing the WH counsel compose a defective non-contemporaneous recollection as an official record, frowning in the Rose Garden etc. I think there was some realization from Team Jarrett that they really had failed completely, and the dream of finding 'something' to stop Trump was an unmitigated disaster (as it remains to this day), despite their lawlessness.

There's a big question as to whether or not Rice was even present at the conclusion of the WH meeting when Yates & Comey stayed behind to talk with Obama...that's when they talked about Flynn. Per Yates' testimony, she only mentioned Obama & Comey being present with her.

You think Rice actually composed what she typed? No way. That was an agreed upon narrative and was likely written by a White House lawyer.
Ruemmler's letter (Feb. 23, 2018) that she wrote on behalf of Rice in response to Sen. Grassley, said:

Quote:

Given the importance and sensitivity of the subject matter, and upon the advice of the White House Counsel's Office, Ambassador Rice created a permanent record of the discussion.

That's not saying the same thing as reported today:

Quote:

@AmbassadorRice's team confirms to #FoxNews that she was directed by White House Counsel to write the Jan 20, 2017 memorandum documenting an Oval Office meeting in...

'upon the advice of' versus 'she was directed' doesn't mean the same thing.

Add in Yates' sworn testimony that leaves Rice out of the room during the described conversation.

The current record (assuming no lies) suggests a fabrication of the record led by WH lawyers. This is watergate level stuff.

Exactly. Upon advice means she asked something or was otherwise discussing the topic with WH counsel.

Being directed means she did not ask for input and was given a task.

I think there's enough wiggle room there for that not to be an issue.

What I find interesting is the last paragraph of the first page:

Quote:

In light of concerning communications between members of the Trump team and Russian officials, before and after the elections, President Obama, on behalf of his national security team, appropriately sought the FBI and the Department of Justice's guidance on this subject . . . . (emphasis added)

Confirmation Obama was actively involved.

Perhaps her son will influence her to do the right thing. Regardless of parentage, he seems like a smart and upstanding guy although he probably should have been suspicious when the WaPo photographer told him to "stand here and smile so I can take your photo (and visually imply that you are a conehead)".

The coverups usually worse than the crime.

I went looking for the actual saying, and lo and behold, here is the first thing that came up...

"The original misdeed being covered may be relatively minor, such as the "third-rate burglary" which started the Watergate scandal, but the cover-up adds so many additional crimes (obstruction of justice, perjury, payoffs and bribes, in some cases suspicious suicides or outright murder) that the cover-up becomes much more serious than the original crime."

In the absence of an assertion that Rice routinely sent emails to herself, the direction to write one seems more plausible.

Her lawyer's letter still contained lies that Rice only learned of the investigation into the Trump campaign after she left the WH from Comey's testimony and press reports, though. Her lawyer had to know that redacted paragraph, once made public would blow that statement out of the water, so why make it?

Stupid.

Ok, so that basically confirms Obama was spying on Romney's campaign.
Remember when we all were discussing the contractor access to the NSA metadata through the FBI? Although what Rogers and Judge Collyer found didn't go all of the way back to 2012 there were strong suspicions that the same activity was going on in 2012. That year was mentioned specifically.

Romney is baffling. Why would he not be standing side by side with Trump in trying to get to the bottom of this mess? I figured he was sour grapes because Trump managed to pull off what he couldn't, but you would think he would be screaming from the rooftops about this. Crazy.

Romney is an establishment crony, willing to get rich off the world by selling out America. He is the same party as Bush, Clinton, Pelosi, and McCain.

Some bombs need to start dropping now. If you notice the vote to subpoena Bluestar was "along party lines". There is not one Democrat Senate or House member who will vote to do the right thing and go after these law breakers and coup plotters.

They are circling the wagons and will obfuscate, delay and try to run out the clock. Someone needs to be awakened like R Stone at 5 am and perp walked.

I think that if the DOJ digs deeper, they will find similar spying on Romney on 2012 and Cruz in 2016. My suspicion is that they found something credible to use against Romney. That would be explain his turn toward RINO.

Likewise, I recall that during the Durham Senate hearings, there was a hint that Obama/DNC was also spying on the Cruz campaign.
