If only the media would spend 10% of the effort on this as it has spent trying to find anything and everything that could damage the reputation of Kavanaugh, the biggest political scandal in US history would mostly be uncovered for everyone to see

With Baker singing and revealing a very incriminating meeting with Perkins Coie (assumption: Marc Elias) before the Carter Page FISA was issued, that means he must have an immunity deal. Also, there were questions he couldn't answer at the closed hearing because of ongoing investigations. Assuming Baker has some type of immunity deal, that means they are going after bigger fish. I think Comey must be sweating at the moment...he is going to have a hard time denying that he didn't know about this meeting.

There is another issue that comes to mind: Don't forget, Marc Elias was also general counsel for Hillary's Presidential Campaign. It's not just a case of Elias representing the DNC. I suspect that Elias would now be in jeopardy for a conspiracy charge. Do you think Podesta & Hillary knew about this meeting?
Interesting. If immunity, Baker wouldn't be able to discuss anything/anyone under investigation ... including little fish. Personally, if there's a 'big fish' in play, I'd prefer Perkins Coie. Although I'm uncertain how they'd pierce the client/atty shield.

Don't forget it was Perkins Coie that brought Crowdstrike in to "investigate" the DNC server "hacking" as well.
Or Kampala Harris's sister is associated with Elias at Perkins Coie.
Elias has been joined at the hips with the DNC for a long time. He was the attorney of record for Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign.

In addition to the suspected Marc Elias, there is another potential lawyer at Perkins Coie with whom Baker may have been meeting: Michael Sussman.

Quote:

...The GOP sources said the documents -- made available recently to lawmakers by the Department of Justice -- revealed that James Baker, the FBI's general counsel, communicated with Mother Jones reporter David Corn in the weeks leading up to the November 2016 election. Corn was the first to report the existence of the dossier on Oct. 31 and that it was compiled by a former high-level western spy.

The Washington Post reported Thursday that Baker had been reassigned within the FBI, though the reason for the move was unclear.

Corn denied that Baker was a source for his story on the dossier....

Just a reminder about Baker's activities during the fall of 2016 prior to the Election.

Michael Sussman of Perkins Coie

He brought in CrowdStrike to bolster the claims

GPS Fusion has deep ties to Sussman

Michael Sussman, and Marc Elias, All three have long histories of bailing out very high profile Democrats who get into legal trouble and political scandals.

Elias goes back to Slick Willy and on through to representing the DNC/HRC in 2016 as the campaign General Counsel. Bauer was BHO's W/H Counsel and personal lawyer. Sussman's good buddy was Shawn Henry, President of CrowdStrike.

Perkins Coie hand delivered the "evidence" of Russian hacking to the FBI.

It won't happen, but nothing would make me laugh harder than the FBI going smash door on Perkins Coie, ala Michael Cohen.

OMG, Mexico City would hear the shrill whining from our press if that happened.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

AAANNNNDDDD, the crime/fraud exception is in play for waiver of attorney/client privilege.

Marc Elias has been a borderline "ethical" attorney in his campaign finance legal advice to Dems only, for decades now. Getting to Sussman gets you to Elias.

The Firm may have been fiction but it was written by a smart lawyer, who understood how law firms can be brought down.

Maybe 923.18 USC 371. The others not so much.

The intent required for a conspiracy to defraud the government is that the defendant possessed the intent (a) to defraud, (b) made statements that he/she knew to be false, fraudulent or deceitful to a government agency, which disrupted the functions of the agency or of the government. It is sufficient for the government to prove that the defendant knew the statements were false or fraudulent when made. The government is not required to prove the statements ultimately resulted in any actual loss to the government of any property or funds, only that the defendant's activities impeded or interfered with legitimate governmental functions.
