He's just letting the MSM cut their own throats with all their pearl clutching fear mongering divisive crap. He's seen all the polls on the SOTU and they are all positive in his favor, knocked it out of the park. He's not stepping on it and letting them burn themselves down. He knows the memo and the IG report is going to bring the entire roof in on them.GCP12 said:
Could be nothing, but Trump's last personal tweet was Sunday morning at 7:18. He hs two tweets since then, one congratulating the new HHS secretary with an embedded video and one asking everyone to join him for the SOTU. That has to be a record for trump.
45.6 is the Neilson number.GCP12 said:
Don't want to hijack the thread with trump tweet analysis, but with the rise in streaming, he might be correct. If that isn't accounted for in that number? Not sure if it is, tbh.

Wish we knew what was going on behind the scenes w Fisa court judges and chief Roberts whom I think they answer to.
Assuming most are above board what are they thinking about warrants they have approved if fbi is shown to have falsified evidence and or lied to them?
Do they halt approved warrants and make fbi come back and request again and prove to a now skeptical judge they need to spy on someone?
4TH Amendment? That's the name of a bar, isn't it?friscodick said:

I thought it was just to smear Trump, and that's part of the reason, but the larger reason is they have to convince the public that Trump is in bed with the Russians. They'll use that to justify the surveillance. It doesn't matter that not one iota of evidence has been produced.
I know a lot of this is obvious but if it's revealed that unmasking surveillance transcripts of Trump and his team made it to Obama's PDB's they have to claim that Steele tricked them and they totally believed it and for "national security" (something the Dems have hilariously been spouting lately regarding the memo) they had to spy and unmask Americans.
I sure hope most people aren't that gullible but we all know the ones affected with TDS will have no problem with it whatsoever (4th Amendment...what's that?).

What's going on here?
The government works for us; we should not tolerate its treating us as children. When raw intelligence data is capable of differing interpretations and is relevant to a public dispute -- about, for example, whether the NSA and the FBI are trustworthy, whether FISA should even exist, whether spying on everyone all the time keeps us safe and whether the Constitution even permits this -- the raw data should be released to the American public.
Where is the personal courage on the House Intelligence Committee? Where is the patriotism? Where is the fidelity to the Constitution? The government exists by our consent. It derives its powers from us. We have a right to know what it has done in our names, who broke our trust, who knew about it, who looked the other way and why and by whom all this was intentionally hidden until after Congress voted to expand FISA.
Everyone in government takes an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. How many take it meaningfully and seriously?

Astute observation. February is a Nielsen "Sweeps" month. (The others are November, May and July.) Ad rates are adjusted accordingly.Quote:
Right now, I'm certain their (cnn/msnbc/abc/nbc/cbs) ratings are through the roof, and it must be renewal time for their advertisers, so a come-to-Jesus moment won't happen anytime soon. It's quite depressing.

Only if you assume that zero people watched previous addresses on the internet. I don't think it is a stretch to say that the Neilson number is a fair estimate of overall interest. Most people still prefer to watch their 50" HDTV's rather than their 4" phone screens.Quote:
45.6 is the Neilson number.
CNet estimated 20+ million streamed it on some device.
The combined number would be a record
The president's credibility counts to a lot of Americans. Do you not think that his constant "biggest ever" "best ever" boasts are at least an indication of his relationship with the truth? Given that most of these boasts are very easily refuted, it makes it very difficult for the rest of us to know when he's telling the truth and when he is just making stuff up. As as cynic, the more I hear him say crap like this, the less I believe ANY of what he is saying.Quote:
He just had to boast about the "highest number in history"...which may not be true. Somewhere a Dem just tallied another "lie" from the most lying POTUS in history...and posted it to 20 different social media accounts.

Well, it is pretty clear the Democratic Party doesn't have much else to put out there. Hard to disagree with that interpretation of their plans and intentions.Quote:Keep Trump's win in question with the Dem base -- "he cheated" -- similar to the "Bush stole the election" so that the Dem base has a focus for their anger instead of on a bad candidate in Hillary Keep Trump's credibility in question with Republicans in Congress -- fear of a scandal/possible impeachment so that Trump's policy agenda would be scuttled by Republicans not wanting to align with a POTUS under investigation Get an active investigation going with a Special Counsel that could stretch into the midterms and cast doubt on Republicans at the polls so that the Dems could take the House Hope that Special Counsel can find something so that after House is taken, impeachment can begin. Use impeachment (even if its not successful) to tar and feather the entire Republican party so Dem candidate for POTUS wins in 2020
Agree. Which is why I really hope it comes out that Fusion GPS has been paying them to publish stuff, and hopefully at least SOME of the public starts to realize they can't trust every piece of crap story they publish.4stringAg said:
That's my take on it. The only way they can accomplish this is because of the complicit media.
