The second whistleblower just looking for protection since they had none as the original leaker?

https://thenewdaily.com.au/news/national/2019/10/03/unauthorised-disclosure-claim-joe-hockey/

Summary: It appears that Downer initially contacted the US State Department in London about Papadopoulos, where upon a DOS official (Elizabeth Dibble) immediately contacted the top FBI official in London who reported on Papadopoulos back to Washington. The Aussie cable relating such info surfaced later. The specific details are now subject of wrangling between Australia & Washington.

The DOS played a major role in SPyGate...seems more & more is revealed.

Read the article yourself for proper context.

I don't see how the "source" can claim whistleblower status now since what he/she is claiming has been out in the open for weeks now.

Now I believe there should be some mechanism for calling attention to suspect acts of a President. Maybe they should be communicated directly to the AG to test legality.

I don't understand how you can file a whistleblower complaint through any agency mechanism based on the President's prerogative on policy issues.

It appears to me that agency whistleblower procedures are for addressing agency issues.

All this is really just noise at this point because the transcript is out
Not when I'm done with it.

They are. And the Intelligence Community Whistle blower Protection Act is inapplicable to a Presidential conversation with another head of State. First, on it's face the statute does not specifically include the President. A necessity when the President is exercising an enumerated Article II power (foreign relations). And second, a conversation with another head of State is not an intelligence operation.

while Kelly Anne Conway was having her nuclear warhead press gaggle, she said something very important that the predatory press glossed right over.

"Every phone conversation the President has with another country, by its very nature, is classified."

I think everyone in the media and Congress has just glossed over that simple fact. A whistleblower sharing the data with anyone, is a unauthorized leak. That it made it to other people outside the IG office is a second step of a felony leak.

It's pretty extraordinary.

And the left will claim that the recipient of the leak had the needed security clearance, while leaving out that you also have a need to know. Security clearance alone isn't enough to receive classified material.

https://www.dailywire.com/news/bombshell-audio-email-evidence-shows-dnc-colluded-with-ukraine-to-boost-hillary-by-harming-trump-report-says

Quote:

The Blaze has released an audio recording that they recently obtained that appears to show Artem Sytnyk, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, admitting that he tried to boost the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton by sabotaging then-candidate Donald Trump's campaign.

The connection between the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Ukrainian government was veteran Democratic operative Alexandra Chalupa, "who had worked in the White House Office of Public Liaison during the Clinton administration" and then "went on to work as a staffer, then as a consultant, for Democratic National Committee," Politico reported.

Chalupa was working directly with the Ukrainian embassy in the United States to raise concerns about Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and, according to Politico, she indicated that the Embassy was working "directly with reporters researching Trump, Manafort and Russia to point them in the right directions."

The Ukrainian embassy political officer who worked at the embassy at the time, Andrii Telizhenko, stated that the Ukrainians "were coordinating an investigation with the Hillary team on Paul Manafort with Alexandra Chalupa" and that "the embassy worked very closely with" Chalupa.

The Blaze highlighted an email from WikiLeaks from Chalupa to Louise Miranda at the DNC:

Hey, a lot coming down the pipe. I spoke to a delegation of 68 investigative journalists from Ukraine last night at the Library of Congress, the Open World Society forum. They put me on the program to speak specifically about Paul Manafort. I invited Michael Isikoff, who I've been working with for the past few weeks, and connected him to the Ukrainians. More offline tomorrow, since there was a big Trump component you and Lauren need to be aware of that will hit in the next few weeks. Something I'm working on that you should be aware of.

The Blaze then reported that Sytnyk, who eventually "was tried and convicted in Ukraine for interfering in the U.S. presidential election in 2016," released a "black ledger" on Manafort during the 2016 presidential election that eventually led to Manafort's downfall.

"So here he is. He is admitting to tampering with our elections. Admitted working with the Hillary Clinton campaign," Glenn Beck said during a 2-hour special presentation by The Blaze on Ukraine's interference in the U.S. election. "He is actually convicted in the highest court in the land in Ukraine. This is all front page news in Ukraine, while we are saying, 'Was there anyone tampering with the election?'"

.....

So now there is proof that Hillary coordinated with Ukraine during the 2016 Election to harm the Trump Campaign...but Trump is to be impeached for calling for an investigation into Biden's Ukraine dealings in 2016 & Ukrainian involvement in SpyGate. In other words, the Dems played dirty pool with Ukraine x 2 in 2016, but Trump is to be impeached for requesting an investigation in Ukrainian interference in the 2016 Election & Dem Ukrainian payola.
Typical Dem trick: We did it, but your the one who is guilty.

.....Although the details are different no mention this time of hookers and golden showers the whistleblower's central claim closely resembles the thesis laid out in the anti-Trump dossier compiled by the former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, which the FBI used as its roadmap to collusion: That Trump took or solicited dirt on his Democratic opponent from a foreign power in exchange for favors to that country's government......

Excellent detailed read on Ukraine as related to both the 2016 Election interference/Steele Dossier & the current whistleblower complaint. A number of the same players are involved, especially from the MSM...& likely a few still hiding in the background.

Quote:

There appears to be a shift in the way media are reporting about Joseph Mifsud, one of the central figures of the 2016 Russia investigation, coinciding with the progress of Attorney General William Barr's review of the investigation's origins.

While media previously portrayed Mifsud as a mysterious character with nefarious ties to Russia, it appears the narrative has switched to downplaying his importance.

As the official narrative goes, Mifsud allegedly told a Trump campaign aide in April 2016 that Russians had "dirt" on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in the form of "thousands of emails." This information was ultimately used by the FBI to open a counterintelligence investigation that involved extensive spying on Trump campaign staff.

The initial portrayal of Mifsud as a Russian spy was undermined by the fact that Mifsud had extensive contacts with people in the Western political, diplomatic, security, intelligence, and even counterterrorism circles, and none of them seemed to be concerned enough to keep distance from Mifsud.

I'm cross posting here, since I put the post below on another thread. It seriously bothers me, and I'm hoping someone has insight, or even a confirmation.

Alright, I'm replying to my own inquiry from this morning. Tom Fitton was on Dobbs tonight, and mentioned Barr was "reviewing" the Biden investigation, but Fitton had NO proof that Barr was performing a criminal inquiry into the Biden/Ukraine. So many have assumed the previous investigation was bent, or incompetent, etc.. If so, I assume Barr will find it, but if it's just a review, is there anything to be concerned about?

That's absolutely terrible news, and sets us up for a possible Comey fiasco. I'm not saying it's NOT a criminal inquiry, but apparently, it's a "review" for certain.

Nellie Ohr testified that the Ukrainian lawmaker Serhiy Leshchenko was one of Steele's sources.

Now watch Giuliani in the video below beginning at the 9:00 mark:

Of the 6 witness Giuliani interviewed & had their statements recorded on 302s, one was Serhiy Leshchenko.

So I think it's rather convincing that at least one of Steele's sources was a Ukrainian politician. Plus remember, prior to working for Fusion GPS, Steele had been writing a whole series of investigative reports on the Ukraine, giving copies to the US State Department.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-06/italy-s-spy-chief-met-twice-with-barr-to-aid-inquiry-repubblica

Quote:

Italy's Spy Chief Met Twice With Barr to Aid Inquiry: Repubblica

Italy's spy chief Gennaro Vecchione met twice in August with U.S. Attorney General William Barr and prosecutor John Durham to help an investigation into the scandal involving President Donald Trump's possible ties to Russia, one of Italy's leading newspapers reported.

The first meeting took place on Aug. 15 at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, according to an article published Sunday by La Repubblica newspaper. The second happened on Aug. 27 and involved Vecchione, the head of Italy's Department of Information Security, as well as the chiefs of Italy's internal and external security agencies.
.....

During the first meeting, Barr and Durham asked Vecchione to reveal the whereabouts of Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud, according to La Repubblica. He's key in Trump's efforts to show he was the victim of foreign meddling in the 2016 election and not the beneficiary of interference by Russia's Vladimir Putin, as former Special Counsel Robert Mueller found.
.....

According to La Repubblica, Barr and Durham also demanded proof that Italy, led at the time by Matteo Renzi, took part in the international conspiracy to discredit Trump's campaign. In an interview published Sunday by La Stampa, Renzi dismissed the allegation as a "farce" and says he never met Mifsud.

At the Aug. 27 meeting with Barr and Durham, the heads of Italy's security services had nothing to say to support the theory, according to La Repubblica -- despite Vecchione's initial promises. Both meetings took part without Conte informing Parliament or the rest of the government, the newspaper reports. Conte may now have to address a parliamentary committee on the encounters.
.....

So in addition to Barr & Durham flying to Italy the last week of September to listen to the tape made by Mifsud, they also secretly went to Italy twice in August to seek information about Italy's role in SpyGate. That Barr chap has **lls. I suspect Barr already has incriminating evidence in hand, but we wants to keep the evidence close to his chest.

It's rather clear that the current Italian government is in a difficult position -- they want to cooperate, but they must be very careful because the opposition (Renzi) is very powerful.

So the person who accepted the tickets from a while back looks to be Michael Kortan.

https://amp.dailycaller.com/2019/10/07/exclusive-fbi-official-sports-tickets-cnn

The FBI's top press officer during the Hillary Clinton and Trump-Russia investigations accepted tickets to a Washington Nationals game from a CNN correspondent and lied about it repeatedly during interviews with the Justice Department's inspector general, according to a report obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Michael Kortan, who served as assistant director of public affairs, displayed a "lack of candor" during multiple interviews under oath with the DOJ watchdog about how he obtained the tickets, who he went with, and whether he reimbursed the CNN journalist, according to the report.

...

The office of the inspector general (OIG), which is led by Michael Horowitz, discovered Kortan's contacts with the CNN reporter during a review of his text messages as part of the investigation into the FBI's activities during the 2016 presidential election.
