Burr was involved in the shenanigans with the SIC. It's why they have been largely ignored for the last 18 months or so.

What does your comment mean?
They might not be trying to get Trump of Jr in calling him in for questioning. They might be trying to get evidence for something else.
Hillary paid for warrant to spy on Trump.

OK, if they are trying to get him then Trump can tell them to pound sand too. Executive Privilege. The legal case against Trump is settled.

Man..I'm getting old.

Burr was a 39 year old Republican that unseated an incumbent House Democrat during the 1994 GOP landslide. Now he's in his 60s and only 30 years away from retiring from the Senate based on common Carolina political tenures.

Part of me wants to watch it, but it's hard for me to get enjoyment out of Comey's insanity like I do with commentators and Congressmen. Tough for me to get over the fact he ran the most powerful law enforcement agency in the history of the world.

It's terrifying.

I really don't want to watch it because the guy just makes me sick to my stomach these days and our dog gets confused when I scream at the TV!

But I'll probably tune in for as long as I can stand it.

Thomas pretty much told them to do it in his concurring opinion on the travel ban case.

I think the Supreme Court is tired of dealing with these lower court judges who think they run the country.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

So the Dems either know Barr is close to exposing them (and serves a President who will take no prisoners) so they are going all out to smear, discredit, ruin him AND/OR they genuinely want to impeach Trump and couldn't do it on Mueller's findings but are trying to force the ignoring of subpeona's, assertion of privilege, etc to give them political cover to start impeachment processes. OR they are at their wits end on how to get Trump and this is all just empty histrionics for fundraising and to tell their base they tried.

Any scenario above shows that the lunatic fringe is the mainstream Dem party now. They are off the rails.

Great summary.

Boy, trump drives these people insane and they throw all reason out the window.

All they have to do is not be crazy and they can't do it.

Sen. Lindsey Graham: You gotta remember, the guy who started this, Steele, went to the State Department, and I don't know why he went to the State Department, for the express purpose of having the State Department release the dossier before the election, ten days before the (FISA) warrant! Somebody needs to look at this like Mueller looked at Trump. And here's a question. Why would the FBI classify this exchange between Steele, the State Department and FBI in April of this year.

John Solomon's article revealing the email sent in October 2016 from the State Department Deputy Assistant regarding Steele, the dossier & Steele's political motives that Wray classified just 2 weeks ago has been posted twice on our thread, Page 796 & Page 797. To whom the email was sent was redacted, but in the exchange in this video, Senator Graham states the email was sent to the FBI. This is another nail in the coffin of withholding exculpatory evidence from the FISA Court regarding Carter Page's FISA application = a conspiracy to commit fraud on the court. I sure hope Horowitz covers this email in his report.
Remember, Wray is a Swamp protector.

If you missed Hannity today, this is John Solomon with big news. "State Dept document will be unredacted tomorrow and he will be reporting new info. Big News, Steele at State Dept memo."

Quote:

By John Solomon

If ever there were an admission that taints the FBI's secret warrant to surveil Donald Trump's campaign, it sat buried for more than 2 1/2 years in the files of a high-ranking State Department official.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec's written account of her Oct. 11, 2016, meeting with FBI informant Christopher Steele shows the Hillary Clinton campaign-funded British intelligence operative admitted that his research was political and facing an Election Day deadline.

And that confession occurred 10 days before the FBI used Steele's now-discredited dossier to justify securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to surveil former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the campaign's ties to Russia.

Steele's client "is keen to see this information come to light prior to November 8," the date of the 2016 election, Kavalec wrote in a typed summary of her meeting with Steele and Tatyana Duran, a colleague from Steele's Orbis Security firm. The memos were unearthed a few days ago through open-records litigation by the conservative group Citizens United.

Kavalec's notes do not appear to have been provided to the House Intelligence Committee during its Russia probe, according to former Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.). "They tried to hide a lot of documents from us during our investigation, and it usually turns out there's a reason for it," Nunes told me. Senate and House Judiciary investigators told me they did not know about them, even though they investigated Steele's behavior in 2017-18.

One member of Congress transmitted the memos this week to the Department of Justice's inspector general, fearing its investigation of FISA abuses may not have had access to them.

As an old geezer who mainly reads this thread from the sidelines (recliner), I read articles like the Solomon article above and ask myself what my expectations should really be as to where all this goes. What will happen? A lot, a little, nothing? I keep hearing that big things are right around the corner, but seem to go to bed every night disgusted. Honest opinions?

I think it both odd AND indicative of their competence that the loons running the Justice Committee neither talk about, nor recognize the fact that they are legally demanding that Barr break a Federal law.

Worse, they wanted their Legal Staff to question Barr, yet these same legal beagles did not frantically try to stifle Nadler on this resolution.

Where did they get their Law Degree, out of a Cracker Jack box????

Color me skeptical that Mueller would be that dumb to use, much less pay, Steele or anyone associated with Fusion. They are fact witnesses and highly biased/compromised ones at that.

OTOH, Wessmann was booted out of DOJ and didn't cash in at a private law firm, choosing instead to teach at a New York law school. That's telling me either that he faces some issues with his law license, or he's trying to cash in by writing a book and needs a part-time lecturing job. Likely the latter.

Publish a book and become a CNN legal contributor.

Washington-based Judicial Watch suspects Mueller's office may have farmed out work to the private Washington research firm Fusion GPS or its subcontractor Steele, both of whom were paid by the Clinton camp during the 2016 presidential election. Several law enforcement and Hill sources who spoke with RCI also believe Steele and Fusion GPS were deputized in the investigation.
That would not surprise me, given Weissman's history of abusing the law.

The arrangement has led congressional investigators, government watchdog groups and others to speculate that the private investigators and researchers who worked for the special counsel's office might have included Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS, the private research firm that hired Steele to produce the Russia collusion dossier for the Clinton campaign.

They suspect the dossier creators may have been involved in Mueller's operation and even had a hand in his final report because the special counsel sent his team to London to meet with Steele within a few months of taking over the Russia collusion investigation in 2017. Also, Mueller's lead prosecutor, Andrew Weissmann, had shared information he received from Fusion with the media.

I don't like Hannity either, but his collection of coverage on all of this has been pretty impressive. It doesn't hurt that he likely has a direct line to Trump from time to time. As long as you understand that he'll be over-the-top in defense of the President, he usually puts out pretty accurate stuff on these investigations.
