...Top White House officials, with the assent of President Trump, agreed to back the decision to withhold the information. They were persuaded that turning over Justice Department documents could risk lives by potentially exposing the source, a U.S. citizen who has provided intelligence to the CIA and FBI, according to multiple people familiar with the discussion and the person's role....

So it's a US citizen who is at the focus. Rules out the Russians, Brits & Aussies unless it's someone with a dual citizenship.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/08/james-comey-judge-manafort-573609
Quote:

Former FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday criticized a judge who voiced skepticism about the prosecution of Paul Manafort, saying the judge's comments about overstepping were themselves going too far.

"I don't know how a federal judge could possibly know enough about an investigation to offer a view like that," Comey said in an interview with The Washington Post's Carol Leonnig.

U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis last week told Justice Department prosecutors that he thought the financial crimes charges against the former Trump campaign chairman were really about "getting information that Mr. Manafort can give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump and lead to his prosecution or impeachment or whatever."

Comey also said that as an American, he thought President Donald Trump should cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe but if he were Trump's lawyer, "you'd have to be very thoughtful about that given that your client is somebody who lies a lot."

And he said he didn't know where allegations in a recent House Intelligence Committee report about the FBI's handling of former national security adviser Michael Flynn came from. The report alleged that bureau agents thought Flynn was merely confused, not lying, about meeting with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. "He pled guilty!" Comey said.
Quote:

He told Leonnig that he knew from the beginning Trump could come under criminal investigation since the Russia probe would inevitably reach into the Oval Office: "We discussed it and contemplated the possibility very early on."

Comey wouldn't divulge whether the FBI had any leads on compromising information Russia could leverage over Trump, but he left the door open. "It's possible I wouldn't say likely, but possible that they had something like that," he said.

And he also criticized Hillary Clinton for discussing classified material on an unclassified system and for not creating a "healthy leadership culture" in which advisers would counsel her otherwise.

He added that penetration of Clinton's servers, particularly China, "was a serious concern of ours but we couldn't find the trail that established that any foreign adversary had gotten into her servers."

Okay, we're nearly done here as this thread is already long enough. Something I'll leave you with: @HouseIntelComm hasn't interviewed GEORGE PAPADOUPOLOS, STEFAN HALPER, or so far as we know, even ALEXANDER DOWNER & it is unlikely @JusticeOIG will either, at least anytime #soon

If nobody is looking into Hakluyt, maybe there is nothing there? Perhaps, but *ALMOST NOBODY* publicly knew former Dianne Feinstein staffer Dan Jones was running a *50m(!) campaign* to keep the Steele dossier & "collusion" alive either ...

Interesting thread about Hakluyt, a UK private spy agency with ? relationships with Steele...at least a number of important contacts, & Hakluyt figured in the Papadopoulos/Downer meeting that supposed set off the FBI counterintelligence investigation. Hakluyt has connections to the Clintons as well.

Well, with this new information, I'm thoroughly confused as to who's side I'm on here. I can't imagine it having to do with the Trump investiagation, as there's been zero evidence, circumstansial, or otherwise, to suggest Trump, or anyone in his campaign "colluded" with Russia.

However, due to a lack of quality, and believable information, even if it is a genuine, there is next to nothing the DOJ and FBI can do to convince me they are telling the truth. If it really is a source delivering information to our intel agencies, and for the better, my opinion is "fine, shine the light, and put the source at risk".

I give exactly two ****s because the DOJ, FBI, and State, are corrupt, and full of criminals. And yes, it's possible it could be Clinton related, but why should I believe. Any help here, and I'll reconsider.
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

I've been pondering over this. A US citizen with high level Russian contacts who played a significant role in the 2016 Presidential election + possesses intel that could place lives at risk + is of interest to Nunes who is currently investigating the role the State Department played in the dossier and also the origin of the FBI counterintelligence investigation. Someone who fits the bill, who sat right next to Vladimir Putin at a dinner in December 2015, and who agreed to cooperate with Mueller = Michael Flynn.

There is a segment about Stefan Halper in the thread about Hakluyt I posted a short while ago from Under Huber. I did not know he was a US citizen. Well, he would certainly fit the bill for that special US citizen with lots of intel, except that he is associated with Hakluyt. This is beginning to make sense now with what Nunes is investigating on the origin of the EC. I'll wager that when Strzok went to London in early August 2016 just after the FBI counterintelligence operation began, he met not only with Downer (affiliated with Hakluyt), but also met with other Hakluyt people = Halper. Explains Halper meeting with Papadopoulos and Page. The mystery of UK intelligence and the origin of the dossier and the Russian collusion narrative deepens. Oh, don't forget: Hakluyt has ties with the Clintons.
RoscoePColtrane
How long do you want to ignore this user?
So Hakluyt & Company has offices in London, New York, Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney and was founded by a trio of former British intelligence operatives that are all connect to the Clintons. Hakluyt was founded 17 years ago by Christopher James, a former SAS and MI6 operative, and Christopher Wilkins, a businessman who had served in the Welsh Guards (British version of the Secret Service).

https://www.lifezette.com/polizette/meet-hillary-clintons-other-more-powerful-shadowy-oppo-research-firm/

Alexander Downer - Downer, a long time friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton, had been on Hakluyt's advisory board since 2008. But he had to resign his official Hakluyt role in 2014, however his connections continued uninterrupted, the News Corp. Australian Network reported in the link below, and as we all know Downer was the person that drunk little Papadopoulos was so chatty with, popping off about his connections to Russia and how he knew people that has dirt on Hillary.

http://www.news.com.au/world/britain-is-concerned-about-australias-links-to-hakluyt-security-firm-created-by-former-mi6-agents/news-story/5d6a3c7ccbd5cd9992379aeecaa5e3dc

Quote:

But it can be revealed Mr Downer has still been attending client conferences and gatherings of the group, including a client cocktail soiree at the Orangery at Kensington Palace a few months ago.

His attendance at that event is understood to have come days after he also attended a two-day country retreat at the invitation of the group which has been involved in a number of corporate spy scandals in recent times.

Britain's Foreign Office, that has several of its former diplomats working for Hakluyt and also has oversight of the MI6 spy agency that has many of its former operatives on Hakluyt's books, has noted the attendances.

"The group operates in the shadows, it's not exactly open and transparent and so any serving, and that's the difference, serving diplomat with access to sensitive information and insight associating with the group raises a worry in Whitehall," one diplomatic source told News Corp Australia.
We also know the Downer was responsible for getting millions of dollars diverted to the Clinton Foundation reportedly for AIDS relief in New Zealand and remote Australian territories. But the problem is no one could ever show any accountability where the CF ever applied any of that money to where it was intended.

Hakluyt is described as "one of the more secretive firms within the corporate investigations world" and "a retirement home for ex-MI6 officers, but it now also recruits from the worlds of management consultancy and banking "

Downer is also connected to another firm in the international intel world, China's telecommunications giant Huawei; he served on their board for several years, beginning in 2011. Huawei is described by U.S. intelligence experts as a tool of Chinese espionage in America. Very seedy bunch this Downer guy is involved with.

Bo Xilai Scandal and the Mysterious Neil Heywood

Neil Heywood's ties to Bo Xilai and his family may have cost him his life and set off China's biggest political scandal in a generation. But precisely why, or how, he died is still unknown.

Here's another article on Heywood that's not behind the paywall and it gives a lot of info on this Hakluyt group. They were always a shadow group unheard of until Heywood got himself killed and it raised a lot of flags. Described as a retirement spot for MI6 spies. Wall to wall spooks.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/mi6-a-death-in-china-and-the-very-secretive-mayfair-company-full-of-spooks-7603151.html

Their entire website consists of basically nothing. hakluyt.co.uk

Very similar to our old buddies over at Fusion GPS http://www.fusiongps.com/

Now this Hakluyt has an alias. Pelorus Research is a trading activity company out of the Holdingham Group, which is the trading name of Hakluyt. http://www.pelorus-research.com/about

But there is one member of their "advisory board" that sticks out. pelorus-research.com/advisory_board

Louis Susman: Remember this name Louis Susman is an American lawyer, retired investment banker, and the former United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Nominated by Obama, he was confirmed by the Senate on July 10, 2009, and sworn in by Hillary Clinton.

A quick google query brings this up pretty quickly http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/February-2010/Our-Man-in-London-On-Louis-Susmans-appointment-as-ambassador-to-the-UK/

Susman is from Chicago, home of Barry and a pile of other corrupt politicians. Huge money bundler for Barry, we are talking millions and millions. Some say that Barry owes his political career to this guy and is a long time friend of Bill Ayers was introduced to barry in Bill Ayers living room where Barry's political career originally kicked off in 1995. Ayers, Susman, Alice J Palmer (long time radical progressive activist), and some of Chicago's underground select activists took an unknown community organizer padded up his resume in the academia world and put him in the White House in 13 years.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/4742696/Louis-Susman-Obamas-choice-as-London-envoy.html

So Barry appoints a huge money bundler from his campaign to an Ambassadorship in the UK. Sound like a familiar move? Sounds like when former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich auctioned off Obama's senate seat to the highest bidder. But Barry got a pass on the accusations of cronyism, by the press.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/4742126/Barack-Obama-under-fire-for-picking-a-crony-fundraiser-as-his-ambassador-to-Britain.html

Okay this Holdingham Group is the rebranding of the Hakluyt spy group, has an interesting group of share holders, and look who's name comes up again. Alexander Downer.

Full details of shareholders: s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/document-api-i

Susman is in dozens of Hillary's emails that were put out by Wikileaks. He was also very involved in getting the Clinton Foundation positioned to receive billions in relief for Haiti.

More digging to do on this bunch because there are way too many twos to Barry and Hillary to just be a coincidence. Swamp is not even the damn word to call this anymore

A lot of people have greatly underestimated Donald J Trump, they joke about him being a time traveler, and Nostradamus, but it's not a big secret. 5 yrs ago he predicted the downfall of Eric Schneiderman. It's not because he's got supernatural/magical powers. He knows, in the words of Gordon Gekko "the most precious commodity on Earth is information."

He has access to the best. He fools his enemies into thinking he doesn't. They think he's just some blowhard, and look at him like P.T. Barnum, who was much more than a circus showman, as is the POTUS. He's not appealing to everyone, but he gets stuff done, and fights against headwinds like no one we've ever seen in history. https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/05/president-trump-deep-state-critics-risk-blowback/

Quote:

After the 2016 election, the so-called deep state was confident that it had the power easily to either stop, remove, or delegitimize the outlier Donald Trump and his presidency.

Give it credit, the Washington apparat quite imaginatively pulled out all the stops: implanting Obama holdover appointees all over the Trump executive branch; filing lawsuits and judge shopping; organizing the Resistance; pursuing impeachment writs; warping the FISA courts; weaponizing the DOJ and FBI; attempting to disrupt the Electoral College; angling for enactment of the 25th Amendment or the emoluments clause; and unleashing Hollywood celebrities, Silicon Valley, and many in Wall Street to suffocate the Trump presidency in its infancy.

But now the administrative state's multifaceted efforts are starting to unwind, and perhaps even boomerang, on the perpetrators. If a federal judge should end up throwing out most of the indictments of Paul Manafort on the rationale that they have nothing much to do with the original mandate of the special counsel's office, or if Michael Flynn's confession to giving false statements is withdrawn successfully because the FBI politicized its investigation and FISA courts were misled in approving the surveillance of Flynn, then the Mueller investigation will implode.

Indeed, the Mueller investigation would likely lose so much public support that the Department of Justice could probably dismiss it with impunity. So, in an ironic sense, Mueller's overreach might well end once and for all the absurdities of the special counsel/prosecutor law that for nearly half a century has plagued the nation.

Until recently, deep-state apparatchiks such as John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, and Andrew McCabe seemed immune from accountability after lying either to Congress or to federal authorities. In a perverse sort of way, the more Robert Mueller plays the role of the obsessed but impotent Inspector Javert, the more he demonstrates that there is no Russian-Trump collusion. Meanwhile, he is establishing precedents that those whom he exempts from his own zeal will inevitably have to account for their own lawbreaking. One cannot justifiably hound Michael Flynn for supposedly misleading FBI agents, when agency investigators were told by Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills that they had known nothing about Hillary Clinton's private server during her tenure as secretary of state despite evidence that they themselves had communicated over it (as had the former president of the United States).

The Justice Department announced today that Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 53, of Hong Kong, was indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in the Eastern District of Virginia with one count of conspiracy to gather or deliver national defense information to aid a foreign government, and two counts of unlawfully retaining documents related to the national defense.

Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers, Acting U.S. Attorney Tracy Doherty-McCormick for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Assistant Director in Charge Nancy McNamara of the FBI's Washington Field Office announced the charges.

"When government officials violate their oath to defend our nation and protect its secrets, the National Security Division will hold them accountable," said Assistant Attorney General Demers. "Lee, a former CIA case officer, allegedly conspired to provide information to the Chinese government about the national defense of the United States. Lee's alleged actions betrayed the American people and his former colleagues at the CIA. We will not tolerate such threats to our country or its national security."

"The allegations in this case are troubling," said Acting U.S. Attorney Doherty-McCormick. "Conspiring with foreign agents poses a real and serious threat toward our national security. The United States will hold accountable those who conspire to compromise our national security."
