Oh, and I hope Trump pardons whoever the **** he feels like. Because **** 'em, that's why.

I would think Trump would absolutely pardon Flynn if January 19th is his last day in office. Of course, maybe Sullivan will finally dismiss the case once Trump is no longer President.

Thanks, will. I'm really worried.

Got a message back from drcrinum. He is having what he calls EWS. Election Withdrawal Syndrome. But otherwise I think he is fine.

ETA: I think he is in a funk. He definitely feels the election was stolen.
Good for him. I've mostly been off the board since the week of the election, as well(I'm sure you were all wondering) Wanted to check in on one of the greatest threads on TexAgs.

Without Trump, there is very little reward in following this **** show closely. Trump provided entertainment. He pushed back against the media and fought the culture war more than 99% of Republicans. He provided some wins, whether rhetorical or material. What is the reward now? The GOP forcing the progressives to go 95MPH instead of 100MPH? A bunch of judges who will undoubtedly stab us in the back down the road? It's just demoralizing.

Interested to see how the GOP decides to move forward. Will it be away from Trumpism? Will they try to incorporate some Trumpism with a little more tact(Like a Ron Desantis type)? Or will they go right back to the Romney/McCain type Republicans and lose any momentum and enthusiasm that Trump brought about within the party?

Hoping I have the discipline to follow this from afar and periodically, so it doesn't consume too much of my time.

Thanks to everyone who contributed so much to this thread. Wish it had turned out better in the end. The swamp may just be too deep.

Thanks GCP, appreciate your contributions here! Completely understand about taking a step back, and applaud you for it.

Don't count Trump out yet. We will see over the next few weeks, next few months whether his remaining moves yield fruit. It is always darkest before dawn, yes?

Still holding out hope Trump/Barr appoint Durham as Special Counsel to carry his investigation into the next administration. Ditto if Barr has sufficient evidence in a long list of other criminal investigations.

I hope you're right but I think biden will fire them immediately, anyway, and the media will cheer that as a move to restore integrity to the DOJ and Oval Office. It's all become that corrupt.

When biden announced he was running, I said at the time that the only reason was to try to end investigations of his family and I still believe that was the reason he ran. Of course, I also said there was no way he would get the dem nomination so.........

Regardless, firing a SC doesn't happen without consequences. Biden may be facing a GOP House and Senate in 2022.

That's true in normal times, but I'm not sure it applies to the bizarro world we're in. The MSM sees the Mueller probe as legitimate and Barr's concerns about it as partisan. I can see them celebrating the ending of what they'll cast as a partisan which hunt.

I agree, benchmark, if the Rs keep the Senate this January they will win big at the midterm and take both houses. But you are talking about 2 years down the road and would require the Rs to suddenly come up with courage they don't normally show to go after biden, especially with the media being all in on the dems. Plus, my guess is biden won't make it 2 years before resigning. But I could see him resigning right after the midterms, if he makes it that long. He's just not there mentally and if he steps down, will be celebrated as a selfless hero. But I do hope you are correct.

Me too. Very disappointed that Sullivan was allowed to flip the double bird to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals twice, with impunity. he disgraced himself and the entire federal bench with his antics.

THIS.

I wanted that son of a bi/ch to have to go on record of either dismissing the case of issuing a ridiculous order and being forced to do it anyway.

In a just world Sullivan gets fired.

Why are we believing these sources as opposed to any of the other thousands of unnamed individuals that have never panned out?

Why are we not believing that those sources are saying exactly what Trump wants them to? Or the polar opposite?

I'm going with no pardon. Sullivan needs to hurry the hell up.

Quote:

Behind the scenes: Sources with direct knowledge of the discussions said Flynn will be part of a series of pardons that Trump issues between now and when he leaves office.

Here is me eating crow. I seem to have developed a taste for it. Fortunately it was today to allow me to leave room for turkey.

I thought Flynn's obvious innocence and the MTD would have been sufficient, but I'm satisfied that he gets to have his life back.

Anyway, I was wrong.

F Sullivan and the partisans on the Obama packed DC Circuit. May they all rot in hell. As an attorney, I've been screwed over by plenty of judges, but at least they had an argument to support their rulings - and to be fair, I've won cases I shouldn't have - but this has really shaken my view of our system.

I wish Trump would have held off on this until Jan. 19, 2021, but knowing Sullivan he'd probably want to schedule something when Sidney was working on the election case.

So does this speak to Trump having lost complete confidence in Powell in this case or lost confidence in winning the election or does Flynn having a pardon give him freedom to work on things related to the election, etc?

Or am I reading to much into it and Trump just liked the idea of pardoning Flynn before the holidays?

Maybe a bit of both? The Q theory is that Flynn holds all the answers he wasn't allowed to speak of before.

My theory is Trump is helping SP refocus on her efforts on the dominion case rather than splitting time and effort to be stretched to thin

Well he didn't give DOJ much of a heads-up either. I read that as a shot at Barr for not filing a writ of mandamus against Sullivan after that September hearing.

To me, Trump is a lead-follow-or-get-out-of-the-way kind of guy. Which is my kind of person.

Man, IDK. He was brilliant about out maneuvering Team Mueller. And his comments about RICO seemed to be foreshadowing.

But we are three weeks after a fraudulent election and he is absent.

In the time I've taken to actually watch, or read, about Trump's life, he very much wants to just get the job done.

I've read it on a couple of different occasions in the last two months. Which is kind of funny, because nearly everyone else up there appears to revel in the rhetoric, and not get the job done. Of course, Americans must be okay with the rhetoric, or else they wouldn't continue to send the *******s to the Hill every two years.

I would believe Barr is operating behind the scenes, which used to be SOP for the DOJ, but these days, the Obama/Clinton/Pelosi/Schumer line of sycophants in the DOJ/FBI would immediately file an "activity report" about Barr's daily goals and which mens room he attends.

If the Dems believed it news worthy, we''d already hear about it,, whatever the activity is.

This is why Trump decided to pardon now. It's also why he tweets some outlandish stuff, irritates the crap out of those around him...he wants to get stuff DONE. He needs Flynn's advice, and whether or not he assumes some position in the final 55+/- days in Trump's transition is of no concern to Trump...he wants to accomplish certain things...and Flynn can help.

I do not believe Flynn is a "Q" person, but is a galvanizing figure in the narrative of the past three years. What I feel bad about is that Flynn has no legal remedy to recapture whatever retirement / wealth he possessed...and lost.

I agree, but I'd still pay $100.00, or more, to hear him speak. I suspect he'll have a fine speaking career in the next 5 to 10 years.
