To me this seems like a move by the DOJ to keep trump from declassifying and making more of what went on public information. Then this special counsel stretches out for years and turns into nothing.

I agree in principal.

But for the record. Alot of journalism is cutting and pasting information from press releases that are fed to them by corporations, special interest groups, and political parties and their operatives. I know this first hand because I was in the business of writing releases and building relationships with journalists to the extent that I could get as much of my release printed without change or challenge as possible.

Point being, most journalists are not operating off their own information anymore, they have become a form of plagerists. The great ones still do. But the profession no longer has that many great journos and even fewer great investigative journos. Just isn't the manpower and the industry is now driven by sensationalist click bait headlines and content. No time is taken for real journalism.
