obviously the investigators know a lot by now about what motivated him but aren't giving the public clues (unless he heard voices and just never ever told anyone). They could be chasing bigger leads now if ther was some type of money laundering going on.... I just don't yet believe that he made his living and his wealth gambling. And that he has no publicly known business affiliations or business records indicates maybe he was doing something illegal. People do not make millions as professional gamblers. The thing that seems so weird to me is that pretty much every case of shootings with no apparent motive, there was pretty clear prior mental illness. They haven't said this guy had any of that other than his dad being a bank robber. Having a dad that was a bank robber seems like a pretty weak link to "mental illness" - maybe for being corrupt, sure.
Think about it. Son of Sam thought he had to appease his neighbor's evil dog or something, Sandy Hook, Colorado theater shooter, Giffords, even the Charlottesville car guy all had serious mental issues.

Agreed. That they have basically said nothing at this point tells me he was possibly involved in something big. I don't know what that is, but there are a number of things it could be.
One huge difference between this and Luby's would be technology. Hennard wouldn't likely have had any cell phone records. This guy should have cell phone records, internet history, and hard drives, at the very least. Not to mention casino footage. There will be more coming out, but for some reason, they are keeping a lid on it.

What is on the rifle in the picture is a compensator / muzzle break. These are not flash hiders. They do lessen felt recoil by redirecting gas to the sides of the rifle.

Also I can see going crazy if you lived full time in one of those casinos. No daylight, that oxygen getting pumped in, no idea what time it is, the bright lights. Even a couple days in one makes you start to lose it

This guy didn't just snap and decide to shoot up a concert. This was planned out. Look at the placement of the broomstick on the one rifle. He had been to the range and set those weapons up well before hand. Anybody in the military or owns a AR platform knows you just don't take them out of the box and start shooting. One of the rifles has an EO tech optic on it, the other a scope, once again very well thought out and planned. If I were to just snap, I'd go buy a gun some mags and ammo and just start shooting.
