It was a great. For some reason it kind of reminded me of Belhaven.
Very good beer overall, good flavor and aroma and it definitely led to a nice buzz. Something about knowing that you are drinking something with more of a history to it that adds to the experience.

I bought the 1.5L. Good stuff and I may have to buy a few for our thanksgiving trip to Austin next week and share with my Father and brother-in law. As they are Catholic, they should really embrace their roots!

Many of the dim bulbs on the GB will believe they are in paradise rather then the torture you intend. So sad.

It is going to be a tough fight Dr. M. The hordes of the GB are massive and the numbers of the R&P few. However the goal of this crusade is true so worth the sacrifice.

And what, pray tell, would be the beers you enjoy?
What would be a nice accompaniment to the Chimay? A couple potato latkes w/sour cream? Herring in wine sauce? Or, something more substantial like a KC Strip, medium rare?

A nice steak with baked potato and salad would be complimented rather nicely by the Chimay (Blue or Red). Fresh seafood (saltwater), rice pilaf and roasted veggies would be well complimented by Chimay White.
