The 2006 Northgate Music Festival will be March 2-4, 2006!!

Headliners include Greatness In Tragedy, The Feds, Fair To Midland, Junior, SouthFM, Ethan Durelle, Wide Awake, Space Cadet, Ludo, Astoria Arms, and Flickerstick!

Presale tickets to the festival will be available online at http://www.northgatemusic.com beginning Monday for $20.

This year's sponsored charities include Scotty's House, The Brazos Valley Childrens Museum, and The Boys and Girls Club!

well at least i won't have to be bummed i'm missing it this year.

I volunteered there back in 01 or 02, can't remember, but the lineup was a lot better than that.

WIDE AWAKE?!? WHOO HOO!!! They just played at Fitz's last week and after listening to them for about 10 minutes, I wanted to shove my head through a meat grinder...

I remember Flickerstick was on a reality show a few years back.

What about the Canvas Waiting?

I've been around Flickerstick since the beginning and believe me when I say that they are a shell of their former band. They sound like crap now.

A friend of mines sons’ band will be playing 11 - 11:45pm on that first Friday night (March 3rd). They call themselves Tridium and play only their own original instrumental HARD rock.

They are young (still in high school) but can really play well!

Come by and check them out if you’re down there.

i know there have been many restraints and i know what hand they've been dealt, but you can't honestly expect the people in CS (who for the most part only listen to bands on the radio) to run out and buy up tickets with that line-up?

no one is going to be like, oh well, they got dealt a ****ty hand, so i guess i now like the lineup.

its a ****ty deal all the way around, but the festival has to be prepared for a low turnout.

I'm from Fort Worth, I see Flickerstick about every other night staggering around 7th street thinking they can still pull ass because they *were* a great band 5 years ago... Can't they find someone else?

what happened to result in a lineup like this?

this thing has really gone downhill. I wonder if 92.1 closing its doors had anything to do with it? I know that alot of bands that used to come here that dont anymore claim that they dont get any air play here in BCS and nobody knows who they are..I think they just dont believe there is a market here, I dont blame them. Last time I saw Pushmonkey was in front of about 20 people in Time Square..back in the day of 92.1 Pushmonkey would pack The Hall. Just cant believe we went from Pushmonkey, Vallejo, The Toadies..etc..to this crap.

Pushmonkey have actually applied to be in the festival the last couple of years. It's been the festival's decision not to include them, mainly because they don't have a draw anymore. They can't even draw in Austin anymore. Vallejo's behavoir in 2002 pretty much guaranteed that they would never play the festival again. The Toadies also have never played NXNG/NGMF.

in the last couple of years, the festival's gone in a different direction (for the better) and have featured such bands as Los Lonely Boys, Jackopierce, Better Than Ezra, The Burden Brothers, The Gourds, Endochine, Phil Prichett and Flyleaf. The festival's even brought back former headliners as supporting acts.

vallejo also doesn't draw anymore.

Bring back Soviet Space so Diggity can tell them to turn the sound down again.

I know Better Than Ezra draws here. Why not them?

And Cowboy Mouth? They could be a solid headliner.

Better Than Ezra headlined last year and Cowboy Mouth has been a headliner in the past, plus I really don't think they'd draw that well.

if better than ezra or cowboy mouth wouldn't draw well, i really don't know what to say...

both those acts would have had people standing in the streets for hours to get in.

Better Than Ezra drew very well last year. Cowboy Mouth, on the other hand will probably play the free concert series at wolf pen creek this summer, as they have the last couple of summers. There isn't alot of demand for them in College Station now.

cowboy mouth at harry's and shadow canyon were two pretty dirty concerts with better than ezra as the headliner.
